I live 30 miles north of Minocqua in beautiful Presque Isle. Come on up and visit next summer!

Love there matching collers!

Those were their Christmas collars; we were in the Florida panhandle for a few weeks.

I love looking at your shots. Try to get the golden slippers on the snowy next time....I know that's asking alot, but it's such a lovely attribute. Have a great time with your lens.

Beautiful, sharp and colorful photos! Also, like the poster before me, would like to know what you have in the feeder.

All of our markets up here offer frozen suet (animal fat) in the meat department. We buy huge chunks of it and keep our feeders stuffed. Almost any bird will go for it in the cold winter since they crave the calories. In the summer we remove it from the "table" 'cause the bears will come and rip you off, destroy your feeders and claim your property!!

Wow, that red just pops off the page. Is that PP or an adjustment in your body to process the JPEG like that.

Great shots, our Woodpeckers are not near as pretty as yours!

Also what is in the feeder?

Just a very good lens.

Pretty, pretty photos. Took this one under my bird feeder. One of the perks of living in the northwoods...except when it comes to gardening. They love to munch.

Greetings from west of you in Wisconsin's Last Wilderness, Presque Ise. Let's see some of those beautiful northern Wisconsin photos.

Thank you. That helps. I'm trying to find a tripod that I will not be reluctant to lug around. This seems to fill the bill. I, too, would substitute the ball head for one that meets my needs more accurately.

The best pictures I have taken of my dog, Howdy, are the ones I shot when he, or I, least expected. The mission for me is to take zillions of them and then "find" one that really pleases me. I like crops the best. The "posed" ones never turn out well because he is on to me.
