Is anyone familiar with/have experience with the Benro Angel series carbon fiber tripods? I'd like some input besides the reviews I have read online.

I have a C2692T and love it. Use the monopod feature often. It does what it says it does. If you're on a budget get aluminum, just a bit heavier.

The only improvement I would make when I can afford it is to sub a Acratech GPs ballhead ($399) which costs more than the pod.

I also have its little sister the MeFoto A0350 for traveling light. Another great pod!

Thank you. That helps. I'm trying to find a tripod that I will not be reluctant to lug around. This seems to fill the bill. I, too, would substitute the ball head for one that meets my needs more accurately.

You need to be careful because the Benro folds onto the ball head. I know the GPs is the right dimension but don't know about others. Acratech GP is a smidge too large but could work.

BTW The B-1 head is decent.

I bought mine from China on eBay and saved a few bucks.

The MEFOTO A0350Q0 is just $92. What is the matter with that model??

The MeFoto and the Benro are two different classes of tripods. Take a look at the specs (8.8 lbs vs 26 lbs). The Benro is a much strudier and substantial pod.

I use them both but prefer the Benro when using my Canon 5D MII with battery grip and "L" lens. The Benro also allows you to detach a leg and have a mono-pod or walking stick. I use the MeFoto with my Sony NEX7 and when I want to travel light.
