I, like most liberals I know, have long scratched our heads in wonderment about where you get the idea that we want to take away everyone's guns. That's so far from the truth that it is almost impossible to even reply to.

Then it dawned on me... the idea, like most of the ideas that fuel the paranoia of the far right comes from other conservatives , usually the one's tasked with fund raising drives to promote conservative candidates.

Need political contributions? Just start the rumors and ring the bells of paranoia and watch the money and support roll in.

What you guys don't realise is that it has been proved over, and over, and over again, that the best way way to make you and your families safer (assuming you do not live in a war zone) is to control possession of, or remove almost entirely, firearms.

Switzerland does have a high gun ownership, but they have the good sense to ,impose some of the strictest gun regulation of the Western World.

The individual right to bear arms is anachronistic and directly causes North of 30.000 deaths per year in America. The Founding Fathers did not envisage modern day America, modern weapons, or the idiotic vugilantism mindset which causes so many innocent deaths.

The right to bear arms has reached a point where the individual freedom is counter to the greater public interest, so, as has happened with the First Amendment, it needs to be changed.
