Notice how many people who become successful have strange first names?

You don't see too many, James, George, Herbert, Howard,
Patrick, Mark, Peter, Grace, Rose, Patricia, Frances, except
for the "old timers" who changes their names for Hollywood.

John Wayne was "Marion", or was it Marian?

Rarity is Warren B., William Gates, Carlos Slim.

Many get 2nd family names, etc.

Look how many presidents, scientists, financial etc, have
strange names.

Just Asking? No harm, no foul to anyone on UHH.

I'm just Fine Wine!!!!!!

I think it probably balances out and there are just as many famous as unknowns with everyday as well as odd names. You just seem to hear about the famous ones for that very reason; they are famous. I've actually met someone called Chris P Bacon. Nice guy but utterly un noteworthy other than for having parents with a cruel sense of humor.

I know there are many strange names due to place of birth such as Germany, Italy, France, Spain, So. America, Asia,
Middle East, Africa. Or they were born here after their parent(s) arrived.

Where are the Helen, Margaret, Elizabeth, Herman,
Roger, Samuel, Theodore, Francis, Kevin, Arnold, Timothy.

I would guess that of the 20% who make it, 80% have strange first names. That's the 80/20 rule? Or is that the
rule of thirds?

:)

I worked as an investigator for the Medical Examiner's Office and attended some training in dealing with mass casualties. One of the instructors was a female mortician. Her name was Lisa M. Baum.

I taught for 30 years. Two of the strangest names were:
Hailey Hooley and Lance A. Lott. I don't know what the parents were thinking, but those were their real names.
