Newbie and long time lurker here.....we recently returned from our first cruise in Alaska and first serious exercising of my new D5600 with kit lenses. Mostly happy with these.....starting to fiddle with post processing. Enjoy, it really was a fantastic place to visit for scenery and wildlife.

Best,
Robin

Beautiful photos. I especially like the last two photos.

Rhinebeck Aerodrome, New York

I also was there on Sunday, September 17th. Beautiful day for an Air Show. Very warm but thankfully there was lot of shade so you could get out of the sun.

Fun place. It was my second time there.

Great pictures BTW!!!

The first three images were of reflections in the Merced River in Yosemite and the last one was taken along Highway 120,the Tioga Pass Road East of Yosemite, in the Lee Vining Canyon.

Beautiful photos of one of the most amazingly beautiful places on earth.

A couple of my favorites from my most recent trip to Austria. I usually get up early when I am in St. Gilgen and watch/shoot the sunrise over the lake. That morning I almost went back to sleep because things were fogged in, but I got up anyway and was rewarded for it. However, I did not take my tripod so I had to push the ISO higher than I would have preferred.

The second photo was while I was waiting for a couple members of my group to show up at our meeting spot. I had walked by that spot a dozen times on previous trips and never noticed the great texture of that little scene. In the immortal words of Ferris Buehler, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
A couple of my favorites from my most recent trip ... (show quote)

Both shots are beautiful. My favorite is the second photo. It looks like a painting.

Occasionally two bears will have a dispute over a fishing location. While the fighting
looks deadly, it rarely reaches that level ... it just isn't worth it.

These photos are unbelievable. It's like you're right there watching the dispute in person.

Firstly, this is NOT my image - my Daughter-in-law sent it to me from her work (police officer). She took it from her office window as she was finishing her 12 hour shift. Taken on her iPhone. Sorry it's not mine but thought it was good enough to share with you all.

Thank you for sharing. Also thank you to your DIL for her service as a police officer.

First off, John.... thank your daughter in law for putting her life on the line to save and serve others and may God keep her safe and all that serve!!!
Beautiful image and it's amazing the quality and colors that come from a phone!!!
Thanks for the share!!

Great comment about John's DIL. A police officer as well as other public safety officers can place their lives on the line at any time to protect the civilian population.

The photo was also nice

As always, thank you for your link. When my times comes, I will be buried in Arlington, with my son. There is a movie available, "The Unknowns".

Thank you for your service to the defense of our country. Also, the same statement would apply to your son. Arlington National Cemetery is a national treasure that every American should visit.

I was also going to mention the birds were cormorants. Nice pictures. Too bad they didn't go up to the Saugerties Lighthouse. Btw, that is one you can visit from land.
Bud

Thank you. I would like to check out the saugerties lighthouse some day.

Really enjoyed your pictures and history. One small item: on the download I believe all those birds are cormorants.

It's only open weekends, all volunteer staff I believe, ride is just long enough for my grand-kids, they don't get bored, takes you down to Kingston Point Park, get out and walk around, and back, good view of the lighthouse from a different angle. May be going this weekend, it's in the plan anyway, Bob.

Good info for the next visit.
