I took a 2 hour boat trip from Kingston New York on June 29th. The tour began and ended in Kingston. The tour went south to about the Hyde Park area before returning to Kingston. Along the way, we passed several lighthouses as well as many stately mansions with beautiful views of the Hudson.
The weather was warm but cloudy at the start (11:30AM) but it did improve on the return to Kingston. All in all, it was a good day to be on the water.
I am new to this website and this is my first posting with photos. I am also retired and have recently developed an interest with photography although I have taken photos over the years. I recently bought a canon G3X camera which I enjoy taking photos with. All the photos are taken in the auto mode.
I know that I have much to learn in photography. I am eager to learn and the internet is full of some great info. Everything is so confusing to me. I will learn over time.
Constructive criticism is always welcome

Thank you. You're right about the history on the river. I need to explore the area in more depth.

Thank you. I did visit the maritime museum. Fascinating place. The trolley museum was closed when I was there.

Yes, but make sure it isn't booked solid. That's a very popular time for cruises. They have nice food available.

I enjoyed the lighthouses most. Those birds are cormorants, they eat fish so live near the water.

It's only open weekends, all volunteer staff I believe, ride is just long enough for my grand-kids, they don't get bored, takes you down to Kingston Point Park, get out and walk around, and back, good view of the lighthouse from a different angle. May be going this weekend, it's in the plan anyway, Bob.

Really enjoyed your pictures and history. One small item: on the download I believe all those birds are cormorants.
