True, and those distinctions in composition are the enhancements performed by versatile photographers. I'm not saying these two examples are indicative of good photography. They are indicative of a differing viewpoint on composition, however. If I had not clipped a couple of petals, I'd print and hang them.

Right and what you think is indicative of good photographs may not be what others think ,different strokes for each person
The only way to tell if it's a good photograph is if the majority of those who judge it say it's good , the way the dog shows are
Judged is no sense at all it's just tradition , one over weight old farts who can barely stand up . Passes a blue ribon to the
Ugliest flat nose pug , I here by pronounce you best in show , give me a brake , they should have at least ten pro , judges and
They write unseen by all the other judges there pick , and when then count , the mutt that is picked by the judges the most
Wins , it may take more judges ,but it can be done , same as a photo contest , what if they judged a golf game like that ,
Some of the pros, would never win , one judge is nowhere close enough to judge a photo contest ,

Please don't mock me, but I'd love to downsize from my Nikon D5300 to a good, moderately priced wifi point and shoot. Most important is good def, low light, good zoom. Any suggestions? Thanks to all!

There is a lot for what that one cost ,but your getting the same ,if your paying the same , I would go for a Sony meirrorlles the the one for about $2400 . It's a smaller looking full frame, I think it may have a fixed lens a zoom ,not sure but its a good camera
And you will be lightened up , or even one of those $1200 to $1600 small fuji, things they look like a old lica camera , ther
Good for street photographers. Again you will be lighten up .
