In the Apple world, one needs to always ask: What piece of software or piece of hardware will I lose with the upgrade? Sad, since I love the Apple World. So, for me, I don't upgrade.

If what I have, does everything I want, then why should I upgrade?

Even though I do not use Photoshop, the first thing I always do is do control-J, which makes an exact copy above the original.

I'm so glad you mentioned Schillers, a leader here in St. Louis. I know there are other "local camera stores" in nearly every major station. We need to support them, so they can take care of us.

There are reasons why I've stopped buying in Best Buy, but it wasn't because of cameras, or lack there of. I've just grown more and more reliant in our one and only Total Camera Store. It's called Schillers, and the person care there is so outstanding. Aside from the new products, let me tell you of something you will not find in "Chain stores". I wanted to purchase a 100-400 L series lens for my Canon 5DII. A new one is rather expensive. By my regular sales man told me about the "Two Foot" concepts in boats. What? It's the wide practice that when anyone buys a boat, shortly after that, they want to trade it in for one that is 2 feet longer. Same with cameras and lenses. So, since he knew I wanted the Canon L series 100-400 lens, he told me that he will be watching out for on, just for me. Within a week, he called, told me to come in. What he told me was that there were two others that were traded in before "this one". The others were fine, but the one for me was actually in the original box and original wrappings. My cost was less than 50% of the 'new price'. Oh, I still had four weeks to use this lens, and if not satisfied, return it for full return value. THAT is what a local camera store can do for all of us.

I have a question, as a very happy Affinity Photo user. Are there features in the Affinity 2, that make it a meaningful upgrade for the Affinity Photo user?

Or about the guy, outside the cockpit window, with the 'credit card machine'? This is such an outstanding movie. Or, how about the nuns on board??

I agree with Longshadow. We've been there, so I know what you can anticipate. Those two lenses will do you just fine.

BebuLamr, when our Personal Property Tax was due, I went to our bank and got a Certified Check. Although I didn't have to, for I could have mailed -that- check to them, but I opted to carry the Certified Check to our city hall. Besides, I needed the personal property tax to be stamped "paid" for license renewal. They offered to mail it to our home, I said "no, for that would require services of USPS", which I no longer trust.

Since I teach two college courses, I purchase an "educator's liability insurance" policy, each year. It is only $50. BUT, when I received a bill last week, I went to their website and I clicked on "contact us", and informed them I suppose I will never be able to purchase a policy from them anymore, for I will NOT pay by check. They replied with a phone number, and told me I can use a credit card over the phone. Major company, so I had no worries.

There WILL be a way to survive without writing personal checks. This is definitely a required trend that all companies must adjust to.

Do you have one of the blue metal boxes in your neighborhood, the kind about 4' tall, and the 'pull open' space for letters, even small packages? Well, a neighborhood a block away does not have a car, and must depend on USPS. He has told me that several times a month, he finds that ... after the USPS person used his/her key to open the square access below, the person "rotate the key" in order to remove the key. That means the tongue of the lock is extended WHILE THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. So, when they finish, the door is "almost" closed, and the box is then open to anyone who wants to open that access door and take whatever they want. And, now I know how my $110 check was stolen (from USPS) and then washed.

If you have not heard of this, pay close attention. Until a month ago, I, too, never head of "washed check", that is, until my bank called me, to ask if I wrote a check for $4,200, and gave the name ""I"" wrote the check to. No, I told them, but yet, $4,200 was taken from my checking account.

The bank told me to come to a branch quickly. While there, they (a) closed my checking account, (b) opened a new checking account, (c) closed my two credit cards, (d) generate two new credit cards. I was told that I could expect a full refund of the $4,200 since it was total fraud. However, while the wonderful lady at my bank was doing all this, she was informed that their fraud/security depart had already returned $4,200 into my new checking account.

How did this happen? I've learned that banks everywhere is experiencing this. "Somehow" when I mailed a check or $110 to a local ankle/knee doctor, my check never arrived. """"Somehow"""" my envelope, with USPS stamp on it found it's way into the hands of fraud people, and they 'changed' or "washed" things from my check. My signature was not changed, just 'who' the check was payble to, and 'the amount'.

Bottom line? Never EVER mail a personal check to anyone, anywhere. Any checks I have in the house have passed through my paper shredder. That's the bottom line folks.

I'm a Canon user here. But I want to share something said be a young 20-something, who worked at a local camera store. This goes back to film, but I think it still applies to digital. His comment was: A camera's job is to 'hold the film', and nothing more. It's up to use to be creative, and yes, select lenses we like best. But the camera body was there to "hold the film". I thought that was a very insightful comment from a young man.

The answer is yes. When unplugged from the wall, the batteries begin to return their charges back into the charger. In some cases, you can actually connect a voltage meter (VOM) to the plug of the charger and see a small voltage on the plug. It is a two way process.
