If you didn't see the comedy "Airplane!" you should. There is a funny scene in the cockpit between two members of the flight crew - Roger and Oveur. Something I saw last night reminded me of that scene.

What is the name of the police commissioner in Philadelphia? Danielle Outlaw.

Many funny lines, including “Don’t call me Shirley!” Best bit, I thought, was inflating the automatic co-pilot.

I try to watch it when my wife's not around. I think it's hilarious. RustyM already mentioned my first recollection of the movie, involving Leslie Nielsen and "don't ever call me Shirley (surely)". Silly, but outstanding writing.

Or about the guy, outside the cockpit window, with the 'credit card machine'? This is such an outstanding movie. Or, how about the nuns on board??

I liked the sub titles for the African American dialogue, it was funny as hell, totally politically incorrect. Up front honest and the way it was. It's a wonder they haven't edited out all that stuff so as not to " offend " some super over sensitive asshole. It was a fun movie.

Was that the scene where Barbara Billingsly (Beaver Cleaver's mom) says "it's okay, I speak Black" ?

Close to a toss up but Airplane has more quotable lines. If you add in “The Search For The Holy Grail” you have the makings of an old guy triple feature.

And autopilot "Otto" smoking a cigarette afterwards.

My vote is for Airplane over Blazing Saddles but Back to the Future falls in there somewhere.

Monty Python makes you laugh and think at the same time.
