Yes sir, I think my camera (Nikon D7200) is suppose to be able to handle rain but i dont know about the lens (Sigma 100-400, Nikon 18-140) I just want to make sure I do not ruin my camera as I can not afford a new one! haha
First time I’ve seen someone from McAllen on the forum. I grew up there. McHi Class of ‘62. Left in ‘66.
A woman just posted on nextdoor.com that she lost her engagement ring on a horse paddock. She got a man with a metal detector to look for it, but he came up empty. Five months later, her miniature horse dug it up on another part of the property. She is try to find the man to tell him that her horse found it.
I would like to have seen that as it developed. Did she ask the horse to keep an eye out for it? Did horse pound on the barn when he found it? Maybe he tried to eat it and had to spit it up. I've asked her for details.

We're in the market for lift chairs/recliners. A most frustrating experience. Trying out a chair in a furniture showroom is the way to go but availability is limited, especially of chairs for tall people. There is a much larger selection online but how do you know the chair is a good fit and that the material and color are to your liking?
Another problem is the difficulty of getting solid information. A company like MCombo is registered in the U.S., but is it owned by the Chinese? Red Barrel Studio has a nice looking chair but I can't find anything on the company or where the chairs are made.
We've gone to stores like LazBoy, Rooms-to-Go and Ashley. And I've spent hours poring over the offerings of online sellers like Amazon and Wayfair.
Any of you have experience with and advice buying recliners, especially online?

Had to replace my old recliner about a year or so ago. Went to Ashley. Found one. Said I would think overnight about material and come back the next day. They said price would be higher. Nope. Went around the corner to Rooms-To-Go. Found what I wanted got a better price and less than half the delivery charge, plus faster delivery and setup. Just my two cents worth.
Yes. Twice! The fact that I made it be known that I was armed, and PROVED it was enough!
Totally agree. Many years ago, was approached by several dope heads in a wilderness area in Wyoming. Let it be known visually I & the guy with me were armed. End of confrontation. The sheriff agreed with our actions.
Although I do own a S&W .38, I have never in my 75 years felt the need to carry it. Perhaps I’m naive.
I have a friend, that shortly after he got his carry permit made the statement that he only carried when he felt he might need it. I asked him HOW he figured out whether he might need it when leaving his house. He just stared at me and couldn’t come up with an answer.
No offense to your cousin but a 45 ACP would be considered small to the bears of Alaska. That round generally is not known for penetration unless a specific bullet is loaded to give more penetration. But even still it is not considered a good caliber to STOP a bear coming toward you. If the bear has no idea you are there and it is closer than 25 yards a shot to the ear would work well. Otherwise many other calibers would be a better choice.

Many years ago, I met a bear expert while horse camping in bear country in Wyoming. He was about 6’5”/250 pounds, carrying a .44 mag. Me: 5’7”/170. He suggested I carry a .357 Mag. Funny story: he told me about a guy he knew of that got chased by a grizzly once. The man ran down in a ditch, up the other side into a wall of brambles. Trapped. The bear ran down into the ditch; kept jumping up trying to get out of the ditch. Every time his head appeared, the man shot his .22 at the bear. After 9 rounds the bear didn’t pop up again. Forest service people came out and checked the bear. Told the guy the only reason the bear was killed was because one of the bullets had gone through an eye socket at just the right angle to pierce the brain. Who knew??
Perhaps so. Why do you own it if you don't carry it? I Just turned 70 two days ago. And feel even more certain that I should carry. I'm a pretty big guy (six feet 225 pounds) and retired military with self defense experience. But I know, that at 70 years old, I'm not as physically capable as I once was. Every day, many times per day, assaults happen. Especially on senior citizens. It gets worse every day! And the Cops can't be everywhere.
