I got a DVD from B&H this AM and when I tried to install it Adobe asked for a 24 digit number. There is no 24 digit number on the box or in the DVD sleeves. Went on line to Adobe but might as well asked the scanner on my desk for what ever good they did.
The single point is the only one that will illuminate when being used. The illumination only shows when you are setting it for 9 or however many points.

Thanks for the link. Good explanation of how it works.
I have had one for about 2 years and it stays on the camera (D5100) almost always. Some weakness at both ends but between ~ 20 and ~270 tack sharp. I try to shoot around f8 most of the time.
The following prices have been researched as to a price range for a similar D610 BODY ONLY:
B&H; Adorama; KEH; Ritz - $1299 to $1496.95 eBay price ranges from - $1255; $1299; $1338; $1400 With these researched prices, "the average price for the body and lens" - $1350.00
A little confused. The prices that you quoted you said are for a camera and lens, and this ad seems not to be for a camera and a lens but a body only. Is this right , the body and accessories for $1300?
I like the photo (from 1998!). Would like to seem more whites and blacks. I do not know if you can do that in PP but I believe it would bring out the detail better. Also could you post the same view point today with you present equipment! Would be an interesting contrast.
Graham, It took me awhile but after looking at this I love the simplicity and vastness of the scene. A question of technique. Do you shoot monochrome in the camera or change it during PP?
Again thanks to all with the explanations of what happens between the camera and the computer. It does appear that the converter in Elements reads the RAW file and converts it to an image that you work with, not the imbedded JPEG. I now have enough information to be dangerous in a bar conversation!!
