Thought about That lens and I got the Tokina 11-16 for 7d, I do have the 18-35 1.8 and the 120-300 2.8 s and couldn't be happier. Still may get that lens for my 1ds

I shoot primarily sports with a couple of 1d mkiii
And also a 7d. That's great advice because all my bodies can micro adjust and I can save a g any time. I'd love to see more pics.

To learn you should start with a flash thats works with ttl. Its auto for you. For about 259 $ now you can get the canon 430 exii. Even the yongnou yn-468ii for about 80 bucks will work fine. When and if you upgrade then you should look at the high end flashes. My choice would be the canon of course.
