Have you thought of looking at 'Trademe' (NZ's biggest online auction) they have four 70~200L's on at the moment for around $1000 nzd. Aussies can join Trademe. Just a thought.

Thanks for the quick answer. So why do people still buy them ~ is it that they are ignorant of the fact like I was :? I am expecting delivery of my 20D tomorrow (Kit 18~55) and the seller said he would include a CPL & a UV filter to go with it. Should I not put the UV on it?

Do 'all' digital cameras have built in UV protection or just some?? I have a Canon S3is and a 20D. Boy I learn so much from this forum....and I have been taking photos for 51 years now. :lol:
