Not Really Old Dogs Rather my try at creating a old time photo
Overexposed Fried Egg Sandwich ?
I've been trying dog portraiture lately. Trying to get these little guys to smile has been fruitless. My wife suggested I try photographing them while wearing nothing but a speedo. I took her suggestion and did get a reaction, However it was more of a side-splitting laugh than that cute smile I'm seeking. Please ! I need help ! Even my wife and my dogs agree I need Help ! How does one get these little guys to SMILE ?
I'm not sure of what body your using. I use a 7D which has a crop sensor. The lens I use is a Canon 15-85mm IS f3.5
It is claimed to use L glass without being designated as such. Probably because of the for sure comparison to the Canon 24-105mm f4 L. The 15-85 run about $775.00
Here's a couple of examples

I Suspect the majority of entries will be of architecture.
Break the mold ... Try something different ... Judges are always looking out of the norm. This is a shot of a fenced
in dugout at a local park baseball field. Hope this helps.
This was shot at 200mm

Thanks for your advice Phil. This lens is new to me and now being 66 I don't feel as steady as I once did. I'm going out to the bird preserve this weekend and try a lower ISO and shutter speed. Thanks again

The lens ran me 1249.00 I buy most of my gear online from Canoga Camera. They are located in California. Good people , Fair prices and great service.
Using a 7D With my newly acquired 400mm f5.6 L Prime
These were shot at 1/3200 F5.6 ISO 1000 Even on a bright sunny day at high noon I Had to pump up the ISO to maintain a fast shutter speed. No IS and f5.6 being the culprits. Would appreciate your thoughts on these images.
Thanks !
