Shooting Raw you always use sharpen. I use the plug-in by NIK called Sharpener Pro 3. I really it and use it all the time. For output sharpening i stay between 100-110%. Sometimes if it is a little out of focus i will crank up 'focus". Landscapes where I want contrast and detail I will raise the "structure" and "contrast" and use my brush only on those areas. Most sharpening is global and that is where you get in trouble. With NIK you can control it by using the brush. You can probably download it from NIK on a trial basis. range.

Thanks dusty3d! I'll give a try.

I do appreciate the input.

I also us LR but I do not use sharpen only clarity. I use a plug in my NIK to do my sharpening or I will use "unsharpen" in Photoshop. I shoot in raw so everything needs to be sharpened. If you are shooting jpeg you only need to sharpen a little. Go to utube for tutorials on sharpening. Many are very good and you will learn a lot.

Hi dusty3d!

Thanks for the reply. I also have NIK.

What criteria do you use to determine sharpening?

Thanks!

Nice shots but don't oversharpen

Thanks!

I'm just learning post processing. Sharpening is a problem for me. Would you happen to know how to tell if you are over sharp and how to gage that? I use Lightroom 3 & elements 11.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would like to know how they get the animal to hold still long enough to finish a re-shoeing.

Thanks for the comment!

The farrier at the horse farm that particular evening was patient, read the horses temperaments, and worked incredibly fast. He seemed to know what the horse would do and when he would do it.

I have a lot of respect for them.

Hi!

I shared a few photos with a friend and member of this forum over the weekend. He encouraged me to post a few photos and so here is my first group.

I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks in advance for looking!

Uninstall and reinstall, maybe? I bet there's a way to get that feature back. Wait and see what the others say. Have your tried Google?

Hi!

Some programs offer a repair or reinstall. If available I would try that first.
