My first camera, circa 1950, was an Ansco Panda. Later upgrades, in order, were a Kodak Hawkeye, Spartus 35, Argus C3, and finally in 1959 to my first “good” camera, a Canon III purchased from a professional news photographer who had acquired one of those new-fangled Nikon F things. Five years later I bought my first Nikon F and have been shooting Nikon ever since. Last year I was ready to acquire a D800, but came to my senses and bought a D7100. I am not a professional photographer, but as a reporter and editor I have shot news and industrial photos professionally. Now my serious photography – to the extent I do any serious photography – is largely landscapes and wildlife.

I was introduced to this website by a friend who uses it. I am retired and I have been doing digital photography for about 15 years. I do it because I love it and it is very interesting. I have been married for 5 years, my first wife passed away about 19 years ago and it was awhile after that I got interested in photography. I love to do landscape and wildlife photography.

Here are three glaciers that we saw while on our glacier cruise a couple of weeks ago. Sorry, I didn't write down the names of the glaciers. Hope you like them.

I love your images. Which Cruise destination is this?

You should google Nikon CLS.

Thank you. I found both suggestions very helpful. Now I just need to practice.

I would like to use my second flash unit a slave. Back in the days of 35mm, I would attach a light sensor to the second flash. Is it possible to use the built in flash to turn the two flash units into slaves?

I have a Nikon 5100 and two Nikon speed lights SB-700.

It is a beautiful plane and obviously you were flying nearby to take this picture, well done!

Hi, I've just gotten back into photography and need some feedback on these photos. I have a Nikon d7100. I have to admit I took them without a tripod (maybe it's obvious) but I have one on the way (Manfrotto with ball head). This too is my first attempt to upload photos to UHH, so let me know if I've failed at accomplishing this and instruct me. Thanks for looking.

If you'd like us to get a good close up look at your pix, click "store original" to the right of the pix you upload. just a suggestion.

Nice shots, what shudder speed, did you use Bulb?

I did not use any flash. The ISO 125, times varied from 2 - 15 seconds and f stops 3.5? 5.6?
The only light was the street lights or the lights on the building.
I used a tripod and remote release, in the Manual setting.

I finally decided to try some night time pix without a flash with my camera. The last time I did this was with 35mm. It is so much easier in the digital age.

This metal sculpture is a mystery to me.
