Heading over to Moab, leaving early Wed. March 6; returning Mon. March 11.
Concentrating my efforts on Arches, but will checkout Island in the Sky and Dead Horse Point for a couple of sunrise/sunset images.
If weather doesn't look good by Sunday March 3, will cancel.
Anyone interested in a focused (I hope) trip for some intense canyon country scenery??!!
Would so love to go, but have to be in Fountain Hills, AZ and Palm Springs on the following weekends. The Moab area is one of my favorite locations. After three stays in the area I have yet to see and shoot everything available. While there, take an evening and go shoot Fisher Towers. Nice location and only about 35mins out of town. Also, unless you are scheduled for really, really bad weather, don't be too quick to cancel. Spring storms over the redrock can be pretty spectacular. Enjoy.

p42: Lila is of the female gender, well known to be late and keep men waiting. :)
well said Pat JF should be getting used to that with all the women in his family!
Pat, you asked about the snow here. We were lucky as we did not lose power but the winds were awesome, gusting to 20 mph and finally the blizzard stopped and we wound up with 2''. I did scrape the entryway, just in case we might have been locked down here. It was rough, believe me. I had 72 batteries on the kitchen table, 34 gals of water, I filled the propane tank that I use for my other TV and all went well, however I did run out of beer....oh well stuff happens you know

p38 There have been YouTubes about the phenomenon of panic folks at food stores in lines to check out their "bread and milk"! News said liquor sales were surpassing bread and milk. News casters also forecasting a baby boom in about 9 months.
I guess I will put some eyes out there for the world to see from our trip last month--I don't think the relatives will mind! Stop if I get carried away--can't stop myself sometimes especially when it is the grands

The weekend challenge can be interpreted 2 different ways, and I hope you will try both ways......
First, when taking a photograph of someone, how do you bring life to their eyes and capture the personality and essence of the photo that you would like to capture?? What do you want us to know about the person????
Good Afternoon and Sher ~ This was a great challenge and I hope to catch up before the evening is over!
1) my niece wedding day, 2) told her this is what she would look like 20 yrs later lol, 3) her son and her grand daughter, 4) Pippi Longstocking look, 5) wolf named MacKenzie, 6) little dog waiting for his snack
that few years later is way too funny and the kids and animals are all shining spirits with it showing in their eyes
The storm has settled, but I don't think I will be seeing anybodys eyes till maybe tomorrow as everybody is home shoveling out. they are saying we got around 16 inches and then the wind really whipped it into some big drifts. Will send some pics when I venture out. Here are a few as I was seeing things yesterday

thanks for going to the trouble photosmoke yours is much better than what I did with it. It was kind of a spur of the moment shot and the couple was in a hurry to return to their guests, but I wish I had planned it out better for better end results

the view looking out the window with snow stuck to it
this isn't the clearest as I put the TV on pause last night to take this. They were saying it was a good thing people could keep a sense of humor during the storm, as somebody had sent this in to the TV station. Home made beer fridge!
