My pictures today definitely have to do with leading. Yesterday, while diving along a highway parallel to a railroad track, I saw a train coming so I pulled over onto the shoulder to take pictures. Four engines were pulling( leading) a long line of oil cars. Oil from the west.

my husband always gets a little upset with me when I just want to pull over and sit a minute--now I can tell him I'm not the only one who does it!

Yes Hedgehogs it is that time again to 'Hit me with your best shot'
This week we have been challenged by view points and leading lines and it's in the eyes.... We have had great challenges and even better host!

We also welcomed another shutterbaby... CONGRATULATIONS jfan... she finally arrived! We hope to see a lot of her ;)

Remember, you post doesn't have to be of the challenge.

So come on fellow hedgehogs and HIT ME!

Good Morning...sure looks COLD up there!!!
Congrats Jfan!!! SO happy for you!!

This instantly grabbed me because of the dramatic or stark contrast. The metal made me feel a little cold and lonely.

Hope to back later ...everyone enjoy the day!

the last time there we didn't get to spend much time in Canyonlands because it was raining--can you recomend any of the hikes there that would be great for photographing

Canyonlands is HUGE. There are three separate enormous sections- The Maze (probably too remote), Island in the Sky is enormous with grand views, and The Needles is a fascinating place. You don't say how much time or how long and/difficult the hikes are, but I would plan to hike the Elephant Hill to Druid Arch hike, then take the cutoff on the way back to Chessler Park. Be sure not to miss the slot canyon near Chessler Park. Another hike in The Needles is Squae Flat Trailhead to Elephant and Big Spring Canyons.

For Island in the Sky try 4x4'g the White Rim Trail. Need permits for camping-reserve now. There are numerous shorter hikes for photo ops along the Rim and many longer ones also.

Checkout Utah's National Parks by Ron Adkinson- a plethora of info.

Any Q's, just ask. You can Google my recommendations for detailed descriptions.[/quote]

thanks I will google them

Dig out som'a that short change from your old fruit jar.

Lodging 5 nights- $236

where are you staying for that price?
I am heading there April 1 and staying for a week in Moab and surrounding areas
have you ever been there before?

Days Inn through Booking.com. I've been to Moab maybe 15 or so times. Amazing area. Awesome in the true sense of the word.

If you need info, let me know.

Couldn't resist after Carolina Wing's comment!
Course we all know the nut behind the camera doesn't have anything to do with it, right???
There has been so much going on here lately trying to emphasize it is the camera that makes the picture, the we see those that say they are just starting into photography, got a D7000 or 60D or whatever, and then ask for settings so they can become a pro portrait photographer, or whatever!!!

ALL kidding aside, you have some great images and a great honor with that stamp!!! Congrats to the PHOTOG, not just the gear!!
