Its possible that others have tried this take over to no avail. I feel that it is time to for me to step up with my wisdom and maturity plus leadership and make some changes here on the Ugly Hedgehog. Here is what I propose:
1. We need a comite to chck out the spelling as it is getting to be absolutey atrocious.
2. There are many bad words spoken and we need to charge a $5.00 fine for every damn, hell, sh--. and so on. Money to be collected and sent to Larry Payne so that he can continue his study on why there was no World War Two.
3.No one must be in HIDING. You must give us your name and address so that those who have serious issues with each other can come to your abode and hash it out.
4. We need separate forums for Nikon guys and canon fodders. If I am a canon fodder I could care less if some Nikon guy needs a what-you-call it for his camera. Maybe a separate forum for third party stuff like Sony, Panasonic etc……
5. Separate forums for Dimos and Repubs to cut out the bickering between the two parties.
6. Send out petitions to Swamp Gator and Molly-Molly for one picture a month, at least, of a gator. I love em'.
7.And finally, it has come to my attention that many on Chit-Chat never send pictures. Some might not own cameras. Heavy fines for this practice and the money to be sent to becheary so he can continue his, well, what ever you call it.
We must stress fairness and compassion starting now. Gotta go as the neighbors cats are in my flower bed again and I must find my BB gun.

Received the 200 several weeks ago and after taking many shots of garbage cans, passing cars, folks out for a walk, etc…..I finally made out to my favorite ranch to shoot some really wild ones. I have sold all my big stuff because I just can't tote (love that word) lit around anymore. There were many good choices from the list of bridge cameras and I choose the FZ200. I did not realize that I was purchasing a computer that takes pictures on the side. What a learning experience. I purchased a 1.7 teleconverter and I still don't understand its use as it does not seem to bring the subjects any closer. Back to the book I purchased (Graham Haughton) and the You Tube as I have just not absorbed the total workings of this camera. Here are a few shots from the ranch memorial day. Hoping to see deer and other large mammals but they were in hiding. Much like many of our hedge huggers.

I'm mad as hell you hear me.

I like your natural look. A lot of shots are so idealized by pp that they resemble . . . Are . . . Cartoons. At first glance they impress but after a steady diet one starts to hunger for REAL meat! You are definitely serving real meat.

Frank--- Thank you for your kind words. About the nicest comment I have ever received.

It is LA-55FZ220 - basically LA-55. Amazon has them. It is not a step ring. It is 55mm (I believe) and actually screws on to the camera where the lens hood normally goes. This way the TC lens weight is supported by it and the camera and not your zoom lens. I didn't understand it at first. IT's a little over 2 1/2 inches long. That TC lens is big and heavy so it's nice it doesn't hang off your lens, especially when zoomed out.

medavis43---Thanks. Problem solved.

First, they zoom will go to something like 49.6 with out degradation (as opposed to only 24x). It will not go further than 24x when in Auto. I have the 1.7 and like it. Be sure to purchase the converter ring - it screws on the camera itself around the lens and then the 1.7 attaches to that. Puts the weight on that rather than your zoom lens. Both can be found on Amazon and of course your other favorite shopping spots. The 1.7 is BIG.Converter ring is LA-55 (FZ200)

Medavis43 ---Got to thinking about your response (converter ring) and no one seems to know what ring this is or number. Can you come up with a size like 52, 55 or what ever and perhaps a model number so I can order it? Is it a step ring? Thanks. I'm learning! Will use it in Program or Aperture mode.

My wife and I are considering becoming "Snowbirds" next winter and heading south for 2-3 months. We would welcome any suggestions as to warm-ish, safe, scenic locations from Florida to Arizona. We have a tow-behind, but might consider a small apartment.

I figure I can strap a snow scoop (a.k.a. Yooper Scooper) to the hood of my truck and when someone asks me, "What the heck is that thing?", I can start looking for a place to park the trailer.

Photos are welcome

Hey Day Old. You should consider the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas as we have lots of "Snow Birds" and lots of places for your tow. Much cheaper then Florida and a lot more friendly.

gee, never had that problem with any of my film cameras when the companies were real camera manufacturers, as opposed to electronics organisations.

Nor have I. You might enjoy this: Yesterday I visited my Suburu dealer to get my car inspected and was told I needed a set of new wiper blades. They wanted $35.00 bucks to install plus the cost of the blades. I told them where to stick it and bought the blades and installed them myself. I had to return for the inspection which took more time Point---my retirement seems to be getting smaller because of the greed all over the place. Having bought 4 cars from this place you would think I am due for a little consideration. How long does it take to install wipers anyway? Sorry-Mad as hell.Sorry about the double post.

You obviously got it solved.

For anyone else reading this, you have to decode Panasonic part numbers a little. I had to figure it out when I bought the 1.7 as a gift for my wife to use on her FZ150.

The lens itself has been around for awhile and is usable on a variety of Panasonic Cameras. To fit the universal lens to a specific camera you need a specific adapter. It is not always clear which adapter fits which camera as website information is sometimes lacking. The FZ150 manual listed it in the back under "available accessories".

Once you get it figured out, it is very simple and works very well.

Thanks for your reply. I finally got it figured out and its working. I'm still having a bit of a problem under standing the zoom after attaching the TC but I think I just need to play with it a little more since I just received the adapter yesterday.
