Good idea, and I believe the import duties for bringing home a now used camera would be different than buying from overseas back at home.

Now is your EM1-MKII still under warranty? Buy another one in NY as I think you get the best price there and I think price is better than in Australia. When you got back and have your camera fixed you may want to sell it and the true cost may not be all that much. Having a camera fixed in 4 days (unless you have professional status and get pro treatment) is next to impossible. If you give the camera to a shop and they say the can do it but then when you come back they have your camera in pieces and need some more time what are you going to do?

Thanks for the heads-up. Is your experience with Spyder in MacOS or Windows?

I think you mean this one.

NICE! I’d be right in style these days with one strapped to my wrist instead of my Hamilton Khaki Auto Chrono! Just kidding...

If you have it, flaunt it

Beyonce bought one for 5 million as a gift for Z. I guess they love to flaunt

Since you start this thread, can you or did you know an expert who can tell me something on an Omega Speedmaster Moon watch that I have?

Thank's in advance.

It’s a famous watch, thanks to Apollo 13. I wear mine every few days for the past decade. What do you need to know? There is a lot on the history online, Google it.

A wristwatch is an easy, practical inconspicuous way to check the time when juggling multiple assignments or appointments, when your hands are busy with cameras, notebooks, lenses, flash. A good wristwatch, even when dressed for mud says something about you, when you raise your camera to your face, and instills a modicum of confidence in strangers you approach at events. It sometimes is a conversation starter, too. Mostly, I like them, a precision instrument with history, a piece of practical jewelry appropriate for business. That said, I don’t wear my dress watches for everyday, and consider my Omega Speedmaster my top dawg. I love the mechanicals and automatics, but have a bunch of colorful name brand quartzes I bought at closeouts as beaters. Too many batteries to replace!

The intent is theater/ performance photography, in my opinion. I’d like to see more of the expressions on faces rather than backs if heads.

I’d love to see some downward shots of both the white ramp sharp angles and wavy water reflections in some geometric compositions

My experience as a photographer and audiophile echoes the consensus here. I am interested in an overview of appliance features or repair histories if I ever pick up a copy.

I was wondering about the same thing. I understand that wedding photographers bring at least two bodies. But as an enthusiast travel photographer, I could not possibly think of taking a second body and carrying it around all day. I am traveling in Europe right now, and I did not even bring my telephoto lens for my Sony A7 III. I usually bring a small, lightweight point-and-shoot I can stick in my pocket as a backup--currently a Canon G9 X, which I have not used much on this trip so far.

Are there any enthusiasts out there who travel with more than one camera body? And if the two bodies are different, why wouldn't you use your better camera all the time?

I travel with my 2 D750s with different lenses. Rather than buying a 'better' camera body, I get better photographs, flexibility and photographic opportunities buying better flashes, lenses, modifiers, and grip equipment, etc..

My impression of your questions are that you are developing a more self-critical eye. Congratulate yourself, you are seeing the little refinements of the horizon, lighting, composition, noisy distractions from the subject(s). At this stage, technical refinements of this image will take it only so far. It's nice, don't get me wrong, but my impression is that you see more possibilities for your work. Moving past the 'snapshot' or 'grabshot' and aspiring to a more personal visual style, maybe you should grant yourself permission to spend more time on previsualizing and/or refining your execution while you're shooting. Have fun making variations, invent and discover more solutions as you shoot, different expressions, actions/poses, background, lighting, composition, etc..
