I see both sides. I don't sell my pictures, don't think anyone would buy them. They are just reminders for me of where I've been or share with the world to show them what's in their back yard. If I were a pro, me or the company had to pay big $$ to be able to get the correct press credentials just for a chance to get "the shot". I'm sure Indy has it's own pros too. I suspect that the someone in the grandstand is waiting for that horrific wreck and be the one who got "the shot. Maybe it's me, it's a picture of a car, whether it's going 200mph or standing still. Just enjoy the show with or without your camera.

Though a little old and somewhat broken, I still think I'm a teen. Can't be satisfied from afar, just takes me a little longer.

If you have lenses and cameras like that, who could afford anything but bleacher seats.

UHH is a good way to get your questions answered. Everyone has their opinion, but that's what they are. You get a variety of opinions on what ever subject you choose. I post a picture just to show the world what I see, usually the unusual. Critics differ depending on their skill and or the skill they think they have. I am nobody who happens to enjoy taking pictures. If I can learn something from a critic, good for me. Some of the language is way over my head and not that interested in learning. TMI can ruin my love for photography, don't want to worry about how if or when I need to set up a shot. I just take what I see and either it there or not. To me that's photography. I'll let the pro's make the money, me I'll continue to share.

Exactly as you stated, I was there too. Just my luck, they opened Glacier Point Rd the day after I left. I am still sore from walking the Mist and John Muir Trails. But with bad luck was good luck, I got the left corner of the bridge both nights I was there.

I had the same problem while walking up the Mist Trail in Yosemite National. I was walking up to Nevada Falls and looked in my viewfinder and saw nothing but washout. I thought maybe I ruined my 24-70mm F2.8 MKII. Took a shot same results. It was going to be a long three miles down the mountain w/o my short lens. 5min later I tried another shot, perfect. Not sure what it was? Thinking it was condensation due to temperature change, happens a lot when I go to Alaska.

The same answer as to what camera to buy. Everyone has their preference. For the buck and your experience LightRoom for me is the way to go. As you progress LightRoom will allow you to transfer into other programs, OnOne, PhotoShop ect, keeping your original in LightRoom and adding the edited copy to you photo library. And adding other post productions programs will recognize that you have LightRoom installed and will put it on you LightRoom menu list.

I have 2 bulky 12.5lbs camera's, 1DX and a 5D MKIII with a battery pack. They go with me where ever I travel. One long lens and one short lens, not recommended to change lenses in the elements. I put them on a self made camera vest, looks like my flak jacket, using dog leashes and quick connects to hold them on my shoulders. I just grab whatever camera the shot calls for and shoot.
Cell phones are nice in a pinch, but there is nothing like a real camera, for now.

That's what made it even more magical, other photographers like you and people who had never seen it to be amazed at the sight, the white arch and then see it through my LED of the cameras. Thank You.

Thanks All, your comments were appreciated. Tkva, most people staying at the park had never heard of it either and then others like me who was there for just that. I am glad that I am able to show and the world and share my experiences. Here is another phnomenom of Yosemite National Park, Fire Falls on Horsetail Falls.

Not an expert at post editing, guess I could push these up a bit. Maybe as the one bossy instructor who was there, said to shoot at ISO 3200. Guess I could push the exposure up a bit, but I don't want to lose my blacks too. You do realize these were night shots?
