I, too, have a 7D II. I have been totally happy with it. It's been to Africa shooting wildlife and birds and to the Arctic shooting polar bears. Two climate extremes and no problems in either place. Also shoot grandkids sporting events 10FPS and it great there too. I use Canon L lenses and the IQ is great, the crop factor was especially good in the Arctic. Enjoy.

Went to Galapagos 2 years ago, also with Linblad National Geographic. It was a wonderful experience. Had a Canon 60D (crop) and my go to lens was my 70-300. Also took my Olympus water proof camera for snorkeling. Have a wonder time, take lots of photos, and don't forget to put sun screen on the back of your legs while snorkeling!!!

I went to South Africa last year. 70-300 on my Canon 7D II was my go to lens. Whatever you decide, get it several months before you go so you are totally familiar with it on your trip Have a great time, the photo opportunities are absolutely amazing.

Jim McCall. He graduated HS maybe 1964 in Harrisburg, PA. I think he went there as an art major. Haven't heard from him since, but he was a talented, nice guy.

Thanks for your excellent input. Is your name related to Alfred University? I had a good friend who went there years ago.

I was thinking of adding either a 5Diii or 6Dii to complement my 7Dii. I was leaning toward 5Diii because of dual cards though older technology. But if you feel that the IQ would not improve significantly, I'll save the money. I generally don't print larger than 11x14, though did a 20x30 that turned out quite well.

Bottom line. If i went from my 7dII crop sensor (20 megapixel) to a 5DIII full frame (22 megapixel), the overall IQ would not be significantly different, using the same L lenses. Correct?

Just out of curiosity. Did you have the 7Dii and add the 5Diii, or the other way around?

I currently have a 7D II that I am very happy with. Perhaps is just GAS, but I am thinking of getting a full frame camera. Most of my lenses are L's so they would fit. Would I notice an IQ improvement with the full frame and which one? I like the idea of dual memory cards on the 5DIII, but the technology is already several years old. Recommendations? Thanks in advance. I shoot mostly wildlife and grandkid's sporting events. I would still keep the 7DII. Should I just keep the 7DII and be happy or add a FF to my equipment?

Went to Norway this past June. Have Global Entry and am 70. Still had to remove lenses and camera bodies from camera backpack and place in plastic container to get through security. Could keep shoes on though. Same thing on return. Global entry really shortens re entry time, at least at SFO.

I just purchased a new Tamron 150-600 G2 and noticed that there is one piece of dust inside the lens. Should I be concerned? It doesn't seem to be noticable on the pictures I've taken. Suggestions?

I did Galapagos two years ago. At the time I had a Canon 60D. My go to lens was my 70-300. There were a few occasions where more length would have been great. I also had my 24-105. I purchased a waterproof Olympus for snorkeling. The photographic opportunities are amazing. Have a great time. I used my Lowepro backpack with rain cover for wet zodiac landings. Worked great. The giant tortoises were my favorite, but all wildlife were amazing.
