Laughing...standing on the ground I'm pretty sure I'd pan one shot with the movement up close showing passengers throwing arms up and another with the camera still midway down to show the movement and see what I got. In either event, I would have two feet firmly planted on the ground practicing my hand hold posture from there!

Here is an example of an effects setting which makes it more vivid...true, it is more striking and emphatic but it is not the way it looked the day I took the image either. It is possible to do so much digitally in post I've just chosen to keep it down to a very dull roar normally.

I never do that. I guess I am enough of a purist that I don't want to get into full time graphic design with photos which is what that is when you begin doing too much to them to make them other than as they actually are. I can also make it much more vivid which enhances how it looks as well but I generally refrain from doing that. I do get into graphic design with some of my photos by turning them into modern art but it is pretty clear that they are out of the realm of natural photos and into the realm of graphic design when I do them.

I know it is possible and thanks for your suggestion knowing some prefer those kinds of modifications. It's a matter of style and principle and I'd just as soon not get into airbrushing things away....

Old fashioned idea, I know, but then, there it is.

This was taken yesterday of the rail bed that during the civil war fed Richmond, va the capitol of the Confederacy and which Grant went to Petersburg to stop and starve the city late in the Civil War. The same exact road bed and railroad with a different name today 10 miles due south still is a path for goods by rail into downtown Richmond, one of many historic paths here. Taken with my little samsung nx2000 20 mp travel camera and its 20-50mm kit lens. I am selling, have sold, most of my non used cameras resting in my camera cabinet on ebay and this one I decided to keep as it is better than I thought it was when I put it aside after trying it. Not a bad little camera for quick use though more based on cell phone tech than top end camera tech...still, it shoots a good image now and then!

Let's see, this was probably designed by a contract engineer and bid to and built by the lowest bidder....not in a million years would I get closer than a 200mm lens to this kind of thing. Interesting photos but we will pass on the ride. The vomit alone from within 20' of that thing must be awful. LOL.

Enjoy the ceramic sighthound sculpture...it is nice. I have a greyhound jonathan adler white sculpture of a greyhound that was a gift from a then girlfriend plus the one above of a larger sighthound in deep cranberry red...side by side. I've had greyhound rescues for 11 years and now for 4 years have a pair of show Borzoi who are larger, more intelligent and into more aspects of your life which as a widower I love as they are now my day to day company and go nearly everywhere with me.

That's great. I have an adapter for my Nikon dslr dx lenses but have not used them on the A7. I use the little A7 as my travel camera and my art effect camera as it handles light the way you want it to versus stored algorhythms processing the sensor data onto the card. I guess I could shoot RAW but I find that tedious and don't bother.

I had fun trying to capture the flames and managed it this go around in several ways. Harder to do than you think until you try it is what I found.

The Breeo double flame 22" diameter double walled stainless unit like the smaller Solo firepit unit both have air flows which reburn the exit exhaust and get the maximum fire out of the energy in the wood, reaching up to 1600 F in the Breeo at the top. It also has the advantage when fully going that there is no smoke from the unit, just lots of efficient heat. You can buy small camping stoves like this from Solo and others and cook with twigs literally. It is kind of amazing the tech that the double walled construction and lower entry, upper inside exit of the heated air makes. At any rate I had fun with my camera hand held shooting these with the canon fd 70-210 lens on the adapter to the Sony a7.

Nice photos. I was wondering what post processing you did on the flying owls as the eyes look unnaturally bright and deep in contrast and color. If none on them then it is amazing. Good captures. Can you post these in pre post processing mode so we can see what the camera did in native as shot mode, please?

i have a commercial inexpensive adapter for the sony a7 to canon fd lenses and bought several cheaply on ebay...canon fd were the old film lenses. most of the suite are 30 plus years old. I have two f 1.8, f 1.4 50 and 28 mm primes and several zooms out to a good 300 mm. this was shot with an f4.0 70-210 fd 30+ year old canon lens manually and peak focusing. any adapter from the sony to the old manual lenses will work fine just buy for your film lenses..in my case canon. i will attach some of ducks shot today with the same setup from about 25 yards away out the suv window. the old lenses are not autofocus or vr but that was okay with me
