Thanks busted shutter, that is what I need. She was a private person. Where did you find this picture. I looked everywhere I could think of but obviously missed one.

I am a volunteer researcher for the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach VA home to the largest flying collection of WWI and WWII aircraft. We are putting together a new exhibit on Women in Aviation the First 50 Years. This exhibit will include 13x19 wall posters including pictures and text and will also include a touch screen KIOSK. I have one picture that is beyond my skill level to enhance to an acceptable level. It is a picture of Doris Lockness who was one of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) during WWII (look them up on the web). Any and all help with this picture will be greatly appreciated.

I am a fan of Elements and have been a user since V7. I have found that if in post processing I first select auto levels from the enhance menu, then adjust the midtones from the adjust lighting options that 90% of my processing is done.

Well if ignorance is bliss the person that made the comment must be feeling wonderful! But I am also sorry that people think there are only two dslr makers. I have two Fujifilm superzooms and a Sony A77 all are wonderful cameras. It is the archer not the arrow that finds the target. A local girl of about 12 uses only her ipad and frequently wins our club contests (about 300 members in the club) she has a great eye and does no pp other then crop. There are more crappy photographers than there are crappy cameras!

I have printed photos on my Epson wifi printer that turned out beautiful. After a couple of months and a change of cartridges (all original) my photos now come out with lines along the ink joins. It's very annoying. I have tried cleaning and aligning but no different. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

If the oyster paper is either thinner than normal paper or has some texture to it the lines are probably caused by the feed rollers. Next thought, does your printer support oyster paper? Hope this helps

One more try thought, I cannot believe no one understand.

If you stand between railroad tracks, how many lines are there?

If you tell me two you are wrong.

There are three. The two lanes created by the rail AND the one created by you looking far away.

The point you focus on in this instance is BOTH the focus point and the vanishing point.

Now stand on one rail and do the same thing. The vanishing point has not moved, why? Because you did and kept the same focus, you simply changes YOUR angle of vision..

Go to the other side, the vanishing point still has not. Why? Same as above.

The only constant is your point of view, the line you create while focusing and looking where the rails apparently meet, the vanishing point.

In the mean time what was around you was seen under three different perspectives. Why? Because the true vanishing point did not move. This is also why the perspectives vanishing point is NOT similar the single unique point created by your focusing onto infinity. These move from one side to the other FASTER that the true vanishing point. Once again, trigonometry and geometry is involved.

If you do not get that, I have no idea what will help you out.

Thanks for not giving up! Keeping hogs on subject is a bit like hearding cats. I have read a lot about leading lines, etc. but the description of vanishing point above is the clearest yet. Thanks

Not overdone at all. Excellent. I am trying to get members of my photoclub to get an appreciation for what you can do with HDR. I am going to show them yours as an example of how to do it properly. What most of the have seen is the overworked stuff that looks like cartoons. I have also found that HDR does wonders for wildlife photos, horses and dogs. It really brings out the feathers and muscle tones of the animals. Again thanks

I love the image and miss the real mountains of Washington and Oregon. I have worked on similar scenes and then took 3 series of 3 images by using exposure compensation then merged all 9 images. Well actually there are not 9 becuase some are duplicated. But I have found that where there is water, land, and sky that + and - on ev does not provide the full dynamic range. My avitar is the result of this process. Again nicely done

This is a very interesting image. Lots to like about it. I think the animal prints add interest as they make the viewer take a closer look to see what they are. I would not change a thing.

The best bet in the long run is to look at Amazon they sell a lot of "refurbrished" equipment fro B&H as well as Adorama. This stuff may just have been used as a demo or put on display at a trade show. It is really new but cannot be sold as new because the box has been opened. Example I bought a 70 to 400 Sony G (professional) lens for $1350 from Adorama via Amazon, when the new Price was $1995. It came with a very nice Case Logic case and I still got the one year warranty from Adorama. Prices on ebay for used ranged from 1500 to 1900

You do not need a nifty 50 unless you are doing portraits. I have one only because I was able to get a 1.8 for $50. I found that an 35 to 70 is a very useful lens then add a 70 to 300 and you pretty well have it covered. For wide angle you can always take 2 overlapping photos and merge them on PS or elements. Just my 2 cents!

Excellent shots ! How did you get the swans to pose like that?

This was during the mating season. The swans do a dance with their necks. I use a Sony, then an A65 which can take 10 frames per second and now have an A77 which does 12 frames per second. Sylvan Neck Waterfowl Park in Scotland Neck NC is a fantasitc place over 300 species from around the world. they repopulate flocks in the wild and provide birds to zoos so they dont have capture.

Current price for the QX10 is $250 and I expect either an updated model or a price decrease near the holiday season. I came across this camera and also the EyeFi card as my Sony A77 does not support tethering. This provides an excellent alternative to tethering. I plan to use it with my Toshiba Thrive 10 inch android based tablet. As a very useful companion to this is a great photo editor for android devices that costs less than $10 from the play store called Photo Mate R2. This technology is really getting amazing the toys just keep getting better!
