Lines across Epson prints on oyster paper

I have printed photos on my Epson wifi printer that turned out beautiful. After a couple of months and a change of cartridges (all original) my photos now come out with lines along the ink joins. It's very annoying. I have tried cleaning and aligning but no different. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I hope you don't have the problem that I had. My Epson developed lines (lots of them). When I talked to a rep, he explained that I would probably have to buy a new print head. I asked him what the price was and he suggested I buy a new printer. That is exactly what I did. I bought a Canon which actually works better and does not have the lines issue. I'm not very happy with Epson. I surely hope that your problem is something else.

It's my understanding from the guy who sold me my Epson printer that there is some kind of code built into the paper that lets the printer know when you use non-Epson paper and it won't print well on any other brand. I had the lines, also on other brand paper and when I got the Epson paper I never saw that again.

If the oyster paper is either thinner than normal paper or has some texture to it the lines are probably caused by the feed rollers. Next thought, does your printer support oyster paper? Hope this helps

I used oyster from the off. It gave superb results. HVent done proper photos for a month or so then had to change cartridges. No I get lines.

I hope you are still in warranty. Are you using after-market inks, especially using after-market inks after installing an Epson software upgrade? Particularly with Epson, I always buy the longest, most comprehensive warranty I can get through the vendor. I have never failed to collect. I assume the same is true for the other brands, but we'll have to wait and see what happens with my new Canon.

EBrunner, Thanks for the info, I have the same problem and was wondering should I buy a new printer or get this one repaired. I think I will do as you did.

NCshutterbug, THANKS, I will try this first before buying a new printer. My printer works great for everything else.
