Check item #3 on page 230 of the D850 Users manual. Icon is an "Upload Marking".
Page #243 says "Pictures selected for upload are indicated by a (double arrow) icon; to deselect...."

By the way, I finally got the D850 and Snapbridge to work together. The "secret" is to download and install the recent D850 firmware version 1.10, dated March 28, 2019. https://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/download/fw/325.html . This upgrade enables a D850/Snapbridge WiFi-only connection. (Before, unlike many other Nikon cameras, Snapbridge was unusable with the D850.)

A reminder to all of us to always have something to protect our camera: Hotel shower cap? Big ZipLoc bag? Shopping bag? etc.

They're not all real geniuses. Some of them will screw up your computer. That's why I always always always back up my entire machine on a regular basis. If it's running when I take it to an Apple Store, I make a full backup first. That way, if they zap my drive, I can reinstall everything on another one.
I successfully used Apple's Genius Bar for a similar problem. The "Genius" asked me if I used Time Machine. I said "Of course I do". He said only a very small minority of Apple users use Time Machine. I have no sympathy for users who ignore Time Machine. Migration Assistant is great.

We all do that. I try to:
1. When shutting down for the day, I set the camera so I can just grab it and shoot. Example P mode, Auto ISOs, AutoFocus, etc.
2. When starting for the day, "preflight" the camera, perhaps a habit from my flying days. Check knobs and setting on LCD screen. Sometimes, I'll take a shot or three to verify. (Some cameras stay in the HDR mode.)

I don't need to "google ken ham huckster" I've met him. I've read his stuff for many many years and I understand what he's trying to do and why which is why I call 100% BS on your suggestion.
For those who have not met him and want an unbiased biography, read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Ham . Then decide if you'd like him to come to your house for dinner.

Ken Ham is a huckster, enriching himself through his ministry while exploiting those who disavow science and substitute faith for reason.
Google "Ken Ham huckster", read and decide for yourself. The decision is easy.

As alluded to, there is at least one caveat that I know of: it will not work on international flights (though I’m uncertain whether this applies to U.S. airlines that fly abroad as well.)
Not entirely true.
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/frequently-asked-questions/can-i-use-tsa-precheck-when-flying-us-airport-foreign-country says:"Can I use TSA Pre✓® when flying from a U.S. airport to a foreign country? "
"Yes. TSA Pre✓® is available when you depart from a U.S. airport to a foreign country, and for domestic, connecting flights after you return to the United States. If you travel to foreign countries even once a year, consider enrolling in Global Entry instead of TSA Pre✓®. With Global Entry you’ll receive expedited customs processing when entering the United States, plus you’ll receive TSA Pre✓® when flying from U.S. airports."

I had to take mine out of my carry on bag recently since it is considered electronic equipment like you do a laptop computer. This was after my bag went through the scanner and then detected, then it was rescanned. I never put it in a checked bag. To easy to steal. Ask what to do when it is your turn at the scanner.
With TSA PreCheck, I've never had to unpack any camera or computer gear.
See: https://www.tsa.gov/precheck
TSA site says "As you know, standard screening requires that you remove all items and place them on the X-ray belt for screening. With TSA Pre✓®, you are able to speed through security and don’t need to remove your shoes, laptops, liquids, belts and light jackets. Learn about how you can receive expedited screening with TSA Pre✓®."

I use an AstroStreet Optical Dot Sight, which may be no long available. Other brands are available. It has a built-in camera hot shoe mount. It takes a bit of practice to get proficient.
The "AimRDot", https://www.amazon.com/Aim-Sports-Sight-Different-Reticles/dp/B07BHW2P3V , looks identical.
The item in the above link does not have a camera hot-shoe connector. Others do: https://www.amazon.com/SVBONY-Airsoft-Reticles-Brightness-Watching/dp/B01N4CCR7X/ref=sr_1_14_sspa?keywords=aim%2Bsport%2Bred%2Bdot%2Bsight%2Bcamera&qid=1558980846&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-14-spons&th=1

I like & use Topaz AI Sharpen. For important photos, I don't mind waiting for it to do its magic.
