I would stick with the brand you have. I have a Canon R5 and love it. It's about time for the next version to be released. That gives you 2 options, 1 get the upgraded version or 2 buy the original version at a discount. Canon makes an adaptor for the old version lenses but the off brand is cheeper ($50.00) and works fine. It has no glass in it just adapts the different connections in the camera and transfers the connections of the controls.
Good luck and have fun.

Neither one or what. It depends on what pictures you take. They have supper wide lenses and extreme long lens. The question come up on a regular basis and I say to my self what kind of picture (birds, flowers, sea scapes, the moon or portraits). If you don't say we can't help. Even though you get advice.

I have a Canon Pro 1000. I picked it because I was at an Expo and Canon was using it for the demo printer. If that was their choice, It's mine. Had a Epson and it was OK but not like the 1000.

I Guess I'm one of the ones that don't take it in. I'm a veteran but at 91 I'd rather keep it out as I can't take it in and out all the time.

If you are buying a new camera, take her to the store. Tell her in advance the spending limit. It will be an experience and a place she can touch and handle the cameras to find one the feels comfortable with

I should have said some of us do use and should use a f2.5 but I don't. Buy what you want and pay what you want.

Landscape photos need depth-of-field, I use f11 or more. Never would see that end of the f stops. Have a white lens starting about f4, I could have had the f2.5 for only a thousand or so more. WHY!

Never been good with hair on my face. But, in the service we were a group detached from the rest and never got promoted. We would be in and out of HQ. The First Sargent said to me one time " no one knows you guys, so you get passed over". I grew stupid looking handlebar mustache. The next time promotions came up, I got a call from the 1st Sgt. and said, " Your name came up and some one said, who is he. Another one said " he is the dopey bastard with the handle bar mustache. Another on said "I know him. give it to him" . I shaved that day and other guys started to grow facial hair.

You don't have to have a walking or other exercise, you need to be active and keep moving and mentally active.
That is what seems to work for me. Retired at 72 and stir doing everything at 91.

The ART does not know the difference of RAW vs JP. The computer dozen't know art from a bad not art picture it can only help some of the technology to"fix" the recorded image.

Photos may be two categories ONE documentary or TWO art. Use the same camera and it records the same. Both show the view you saw thru the lens. One gave the facts and the other gave the view in a way that is worth looking at.
