Nice! Love all the shots and love Pittsburgh and surrounding areas!
These birds are actually pretty easy to find in South Texas in the winter. They are really fun to watch and photograph. Good shots! They are kind of a short story of images!
I second Valley of Fire. It is close to LV and one very beautiful and easy place to see.
I use both but the straps and connectors are from Peak Design. They don't use flat straps through the camera bar.
Well, that little educational moment made my day!
Watch for Condors if you get up high. I got some great shots of one on Angel's Landing about 5 yrs. ago.
I use Peak Design and like what I have. They make quite a few unique products for camera equipment in my opinion
Nice shots! I tried all last summer for a shot like that in Newfoundland but never got close to this shot! Now I really know what they look like up close.
God shot. NIce bokeh. The sharpened head was a help! Was this at the state park near Bentsen Palms in RGV?
Nice shots! I've been there also. Seems to me Petroglyph photography sometimes makes the petroglyphs look sharper and more distinct than seeing them at the site.
Sign up for a ranger hike through the area with slot canyons if available and if you hike. You will get some photo opportunities not available otherwise.
Check out the Alabama Hills, Movie Flats area off the Whitney Portal road out of Lone Pine. Great old movie landscapes in this area. There is a guide you can get which details how to get to specific locations where different films were made, i.e., "Audie Murphy rode by this set of rocks in ........... Get a copy in Lone Pine or download it. Fun and great photography area. We dry camped up there in our motorhome one time out in a beautiful rocky area all by ourselves. No crowds, entrance fee or visitor center. Going back this year.
Just north of Monument Valley and Mexican Hat, there are two great photography sites. One is Gooseneck State Park where wide angle lens and/or panoramic shots are a must. Second, go on north and drive up the Moki Dugway. Right at the top you turn left or west to get to Muley Point. Great views of Monument Valley and the goosenecks on the San Juan River as it heads for Lke Powell. Also, if you hike, take the trail out to where the Thumbs are in Monument Valley. Early morning is a great time to hike in Monument Valley. Enjoy God's Country!
I don't think the iPhone will cause the demise of dslr but the p&s market is likely to suffer a lot. Seems to me a lot depends on how much Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Leica, etc. rely on that p&s market as to how much they are going to have to change in their market strategy.
