I asked because I would like them to be better and I am at that stage of my life where I am willing to obtain and seeking to get constructive criticism.

Yours was certainly helpful, well thought out, encouraging, and offered me many good suggestions. Now if you could learn to phrase it in some type of less dramatic English it might be better. You note that the black-and-white saved me. Actually they're just photographs and I didn't need to be saved. Have a nice day

I shot these my Olympus e- M1 M2 and processed them A few minutes later or tomorrow iPhone. All in all I think they came out pretty good but I find suggestions to be the number one thing to help me get better. So what do you have in the way of constructive suggestions?

Thanks for the opinion. Family wants this printed at 24 x 36 and the A iPhone color photo just won't hold up. By increasing the grain I thought that it would become more acceptable at that large size but I have been wrong before. Once. Back in '67 but the statute of limitations has passed and I am in the witness protection program.

Just when I Think I have developed a modicum of photographic ability I see these and realize there's a whole other world of talent out there

Many people by fast lenses, i.e. 1.4, to use the narrow depth of field, and in low lighting conditions with no intention of ever using the same lens at 5.6 since they have other lenses that do well At 5.6. I certainly use my 1.4 lens in that "mode" 99% of the time. So if that is true, why don't they make a lens that is simply 1.4? No adjustable aperture, no built-in stabilization just superb quality glass to shoot at one focal length and one f-stop. They could save the money from the aperture mechanisms and auto focus and provide a superb piece of great glass. I would certainly be online to buy one. Anyone else?

Buy a pretend roll of 24 shot film. Then go someplace, anyplace, and take photos but pretend you only have 24 shots. One of the problems that I find is that it is too easy to take multiple photos. If you limit yourself to 24 you have to think about it, move around to different angles, be careful about what is in the background, check where the light is coming from, other unwanted shadows in the photograph? Just take 24 and come back and analyze them. And then if you get the chance, go back to the same place and do it again having already reviewed the first 24 photographs with some ideas in your mind of how you can improve it and go back and take 24 more. Then try somewheres else will take 24 photographs , Go home and analyze them. Check for your focus, check for camera shake, check to see if anything is blown out on the high side or just invisible of the Darkside. Maybe take a few that Will come out weird which is perfect as long as they come out weird the way you expected. Then go back the next day and shoot another 24 at the same place. Pretty soon you start paying more attention to what you're shooting.

A number of years ago I took a weeklong workshop and afterwords the teacher told me that in all the years that she had been teaching the course I had the best knowledge of dynamic range, signal to noise ratio, and all the technical aspects of shooting a photo. She also told me I took the worst photos she had seen which was exactly what I needed. This was on the third day and she really pressed on me the importance of not just walking up and taking a shot but thinking the shot through, if I took three steps to the left then that rock would not overlap The other rock and we could see sunlight between them – that kind of thing that I never thought of. It was a great week. So pay more attention to what you shoot because by now you certainly have the skills to take a good shot. And mostly have fun.

Clearly it is 90% your talent and 10% equipment and you certainly have talent. However, I would like to know what you used to shoot this photo and some of your basic settings. Thanks.

Yes, I am also using the 12 – 100. I had traded in my 12 – 40 and frankly except for the fact that it's an F4.0 instead of a 2.8 I see very little difference. Both are critically sharp to my eye. Also the stabilization with this camera and this lens allows me to handhold it to a point where I could not of taken a photo previously. I am interested in that 100 – 400 and may look at that in the future.

It wasn't super dark but the guy was "rocking it out" (I'm old,not sure that is the right expression) and was moving a lot. Would rather have a relatively sharp noisy photo than a blurry less noisy photo. You can clean up some noise. Blurry photos are just blurry photos. But I was really surprised. I don't have the skill or the time or the gumption to master flash properly and I think that just using natural light gives it a more "realistic" feel in any event. But, having done some brief testing, and I am not done yet, I may start using ISO 800 as my base ISO. Printing to A3 size I am not sure I can see the difference and certainly not on a regular computer screen. I am enjoying this new camera.

Good morning. What program are you referring to that will allow you to "erace" an individual and fill in the background that is usable on the iPad Pro? Thanks

Thanks for all the well wishes. She ended -up 20-20 in one eye and 20-15 in the other. Not bad for eight seconds laser work. It should be lasik. Damn voice recognition!
