I always shoot RAW + JPEG. I rarely use the JPEG files. I don't think what I do is really post process. I use the RAW files because I can make the adjustmentsy afterward. And yes it's worth it. The cost of shooting RAW is nothing to me.

Exactly!

Consider getting and learning how to use a Tilt-Shift lens. I have a professional product photographer friend who says a good job is possible without using one.

Nice display. Thhe red background enhances the view. I have a similar gathering including the Argus C3 which was my first 35mm and my Mother's Kodak Autographic Brownie (and 30 or more others including my second 35mm, an Exakcta VXIIa).

Been to both rims several times with a number of different cameras and lenses as my experience and capability grew. I can't recall a trip I didn't capture exceptional images for the equipment. Of f special note is the time of day for imaging. Get up before the sun and stop photographing when it's too dark to see the equipment has been my best play. Mid day is not rewarding so a chance to rest. You'll get great images especially if you avoid the clichés. Thank different and think creative.

If f time allows, a day spent South of San Francisco to drive CA1 and see Big Sur is worth the time.

You can always fool people with well cropped images. Your crop removed the sense of scale. Nice work!

Whatever you get, get it soon enough to get lots of practice in using the lens. Wide angle lenses, especially the wider focal lengths take some getting used to or you get images you won't like later. Levelling the camera is a skill you need to get used to. Good Luck!

Do we buy our cameras for their external beauty?
I don't. I think optical performance and capability are much better reason.
