It got down to 20 degrees so I got out my bubble juice for a early morning shoot.

This guy was just starting to warm up this morning. I got off a few shots before he became too active.
This is my first session with my a new-to-me Nikon 105mm 2.8 vr.

Nice patient work! And a beautiful looking specimen! I do know one thing: You macro guys are really, really dedicated - and it shows! Just looking in to admire the work you have done with the 105 you are selling. I bought a used Tokina earlier this year, but have not really worked with it. I took some really good shots, and then my patience wanes. I end up just shooting. No set-up. That's why I admire the macro-group.

I think it's more persistence than patience. After a little while of bug hunting, you know the best places to look for subjects. Another poster - sippyjug104 - has a indoor set-up and gets great stacked images.

Not really in the market for the lens but just wanted to say that the images are really great.

No Thank You, sounds like JUNK

Wow. If someone is more concerned with making a pleasing image, rather than having a pristine lens, this is quite a value. It's 12% the cost of a new one! If you feel that the images i made with this lens are "JUNK", please enlighten me to how they could be better.

Nikon Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 Ai-s Lens

About 5 years ago, I got this lens off of ebay for $125. I wasn't sure if I would like shooting macro, so I took a chance on a old beat-up lens. This copy has been great! I have taken hundreds of pictures with this lens and extension tube. Feel free to look at my posts in the true macro section.

I just picked up a new 105 in a package deal, so I'm letting this on go.

The focus ring is hard to turn at lower temperatures
The filter ring is bent
There are spots/dirt/fungus on the inside glass

$100 plus shipping or pick up in Richmond, VA

We stayed in a tiny house AirBnB near Great Smokey Mountains National Park. There was an almost full moon that gave some color to the house and trees. I used 120 second exposure and combined about 4 hours worth.
Nikon D750
Ibex 15mm f/2.4
ISO 100
Raw conversion with Darktable
Images combined with GIMP
Downsized image to 1gb because the 35gb image timed out.

Masterful photography!!

Thanks for the complement. I did feel very "masterful" during the first attempt. I didn't think to check if the tide was rising or falling when I framed the shot. A small amount of water got under the tripod causing it to move during the exposure!

A great shot. Interesting effects are to be obtained using those ND filters.
I see no color cast.

Thanks. I shoot in RAW with my white balance set on auto, so it hard to tell if there is any shifting. I'm sure there is some color cast because this is just about the cheapest 10 ND filter in the world!

I love that pier, was there last October, in the before times. Did you stay locally?

We stayed next to the pier. Not quite mid-summer crowds, but there were many more people than I remember for late September.
