I have to ask this. Why would you come from Chicago to Atlanta to visit an aquarium. The Shedd Aquarium is one of the best in the world. I have lived in Ga. since 1990 and have found nothing, absolutely nothing to compare to Chicago. There is no comparison. A job brought me here and it has proven to be the worst career move in my life. If you live in Chicago, stay there, you'll be better off.

Did I say I was coming from Chicago to visit the Atlanta Aquarium. No I said I was going with a tour group.
The group is from retirement community in Johns Creek, suburb of Atlanta.
I moved to Atlanta when I retired a few years ago, after having lived most recently in Colorado.
Couldn’t take the snow and cold anymore.
Very familiar with the Shedd Aquarium; I grew up in Chicago!
Why would one live 20 years in a place he hated?

Thanks
Lots of useful suggestions
The 80D does not have flash and I don’t intend on bringing an external.
My 50 and 85 are both 1.8 .
The 24 mm is 2.8.
Need to order the rubber hoods.

I have never attempted photos in an aquarium. Been a long time since I visited one.
Going in a couple of weeks on a group tour to the Atlanta Aquarium.
I appreciate any suggestions on lenses and techniques. I will be using a Canon 80D, and I have a variety of lenses including some primes.

it is a powerful editing program and you own it. I think it is better than 3 try the free trail and see for yourself. good Luck

Free? I bought the original Luminar, then PAID for an upgrade and then another install and upgrade.
Ditto for ON1

I have always believed that capturing the image is only one third of the final product. Proper matting and framing are just as important, as total perception is what a potential viewer or buyer is looking at. That being said I have purchased a mat cutter and since I live in a rural area plan on collecting old barn wood and custom making frames. I don't know how you feel about woodworking but if you only creatively matted your work and presented it artistically at art and craft shows you could pick up some decent extra money. I would start by purchasing a mat cutter and learning how to creatively mat to present your images in the most favorable light. Maybe do some little collections on a certain theme... find an art show and have at it... you will be involved in something you enjoy and will pick up valuable info just by being involved.
I have always believed that capturing the image is... (show quote)

I just wrote something similar on a different forum.

Ordered a 10x20 from Bay Photo in CA. Had it sent directly to my daughter who lives in East Bay so delivery would be quicker.
I haven’t seen it in person yet, only a photo. She loves and said it gorgeous.
Just FYI.

Get linux. Day after day I see people with issues regarding their OS, both mac and windows. Why not try something different?

Years ago I took one of my computers and it turned it into a Linux OS.
Not sure I want to try that again with my relatively new IMac.
What I might do is get a new PC and add enough memory.

Suggestion: Don't waste time dealing with the Apple Forum...call the Apple Technical Support line (800-275-2273) for immediate information. A recorded voice will ask for information to identify your equipment and the area of concern. Costs nothing but a few minutes-or however long it takes to resolve your issue.

Ok
Thanks

After I download the latest update to Catalina somehow must have triggered a new setting on my screen.
Whenever I right click on a window a series of numbers appears to the left of the items of choice. Very annoying. Don't know how to eliminate this.
Anyone have this problem.
I'll check the Apple Forum later today.
Thanks

I sent my old Panasonic LUMIX to Kolarivision for a conversion to a 720 wavelength IR camera. I can focus, choose f stop, shutter speed etc. Minimal cost for a small camera like this.
I’m having lots of fun experimenting with it.
I have actually taken some interesting, eerie photos with it.

I use the Apple Photos app mainly for pics taken with my IPhone. Also my daughter frequently attaches photos of our grandkids in Message and I can immediately send them to Photos
Since these are all in JPEG it is a convenient way of organizing.
