It's a Chevrolet for sure, I think it's a 1946 one of the first ones after WWII war production stopped. See these:

A close up photo would make it easier to identify, something that shows the shape of the leaves and the berries twiga

You may want to check on the lens you saw; digitalgoja, 6th ave, 42nd street photo and others sell a lot of grey market.
There probably wouldn't be a warranty for the lens locally, you would have to send it back to the seller who would then
arrange to have it fixed in whatever country it was meant for. Just something to think about.

Make sure you get the newer model which has 2 rubber grips one is the focus ring the other just a grip versus the older model that only has 1 rubber ring (focus) towards the rear of the lens barrel, there is a difference in image quality, I've had both in Nikon mounts. The newer model is an excellent lens.

Quite surprising that President Truman said that the man deserved the MOH and the Army refused to award it. It certainly sounds like the same type of events that Audie Murphy was awarded his for. I wonder how many other soldiers, sailors, marines, or airmen have the same dossier of feats that have gone unnoticed? Thanks Apache for posting this.
