I like the fountain and the icicle Donn.

Thank you very much; hopefully I can get out and get something fresh today but it looks pretty gloomy out there and rain and snow in the forecast for today.

Pg.6, nice birds in flight captures. The capture freeze action of the water splashing is always fun, it was fun the first time I captured it and still today.
The icicle introduction and picture looks likes a storyline to a novel, well done.

Thank you Dan and I totally agree with you. There's something about water that fascinates the soul and it is mesmerizing to be able to capture it.

I'm going to learn how to catch a drop like that one of these days.

Just talk to it and tell it to hold still and say cheese.

April brings/showers man and you know when to jump

start jumping around like this ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;''''

I'd end up in the hospital if I jumped like that; I can't even run between rain drops any more.

Challenge Motion April -20 to 23- 2015
Capturing Motion can be done in many ways; with a flash, panning, slow shutter, and with a variety of subjects.

Great start Dan. I'll have to post a couple from recent archives as it's raining today and may for the next couple also but will try to catch something between rain drops.

I just posted these on yesterdays post by mistake so will repost them here. I had a couple of wood ducks fly into the back yard a few days ago and I was able to get one early morning shot of the male. They (or another pair) flew back in this morning and I believe they are looking for a nesting site. Just caught the male again, the female is shy and stays back

I pair of wood ducks flew into the back yard a few days ago and I posted one here. It was an early morning pic and I couldn't get a very clear shot at it. They returned this morning and I was able to catch the male before he flew off. I believe they are looking for a nesting site.

That is definitely a wood duck in the tree. Wood Ducks nest in trees! Beautiful duck!

Thank you very much. That is the third time ducks have landed in my back yard, usually in pairs.

Spring is new beginning most of us to see new growth. I know some of more then others. Let us see what it looks like were you live from snow on the ground to green.

Great start Agnes. Spring is finally beginning here in spite of the snow last week and temps going into the 30's every night still. Here's a couple of early blooms and a huge group of swans migrating north.

Another duck in my back yard trees early one morning last week; looks like a wood duck

A duck in a tree!! Another great illustration of a unique characteristic of a duck. It is surprising to see a duck in a tree! but I have known this was a unique feature of the Wood Ducks life style. Love it! I plan on buying a Mallard duck decoy as we have a small drainage ditch running beside our property. I thought I would use a decoy and some cracked corn to see if I can interest any Mallards in stopping by for a visit. Thank you for your photo sharing.

Thank you Ann. Yes, this amazed me as well for this is only the second time I've seen it as well. I do love my little mallard in my fish pond but the only thing he attracts is frogs!

You are so funny! I've never seen a wood duck in a tree - until now. So bad shot or not, I just saw something I'd never seen before.

Thanks. Me either Pat; why I took a quick snap even though it was a poor shot. I had a canvas back duck in a tree back there a few years back but it was an even darker shot.

Still have frozen over lakes and ponds here so I'll just post a couple from files. The first one is a poor shot of a very early morning pic I took in my back yard of a pair of wood ducks in one of the trees. They left when I tried to get closer for a better shot. The second two are of my backyard fish pond with mallard duck decoy (lol).

Yep, still cold here also and no end in sight. Gonna be a chilly Easter in the north country.
