Although there may be some concerns as indicated by your post, but I assume that a warrant would not be served for a parking ticket. If I was a LEO that neede to serve a warrant for a suspected drug interdiction or an escaped convict, I would want to go in hoping for a peaceful resolution but expecting something more serious. Have you looked at some other examples of a militarized police force. Look at German LEOs patrollingone of their airports. Those aren't huka pipes and the latest vest fashions . Germany is one of the most stable nations in the Western world.

One only has to harken back to the North Hollywood Shootout of Feb 28, 1997. The would-bank robbers were better armed than the ENTIRE Los Angeles police and sheriff depts. It was only after a gunshop owner offered up his stock of AR-15s and ammunition to the cops trying to end the rampage that the playing field was leveled and the shootout ended. Ten wounded LEOs and civilians and two dead scumbags. The scoreboard could have been much worse if the LEOs had to continue using their pistols and shotguns which weren't doing anything else but pissing off the perps further.
Does the incumbent realize that many LEOs in police depts all over the US are former military servicemen and women who learned long ago how to handle those "nasty pieces of hardware".
As for the police tactical show of force, ask anyone if that doesn't get their attention and make them want to behave if their plans were going to be different. IMHO, a show of force is more of a deterrent that will prevent the need to use lethal force, NOT ENCOURAGE IT -- especially in the US of A !!!

Chicago Council limits gun-sale locations
The Chicago City Council, forced by a federal judge to allow gun sales in the city, approved an ordinance Wednesday that dramatically limits where those stores can open and puts owners on alert that the city will be looking over their shoulders every time they sell a gun.
During their discussions, aldermen and Mayor Rahm Emanuel made it clear that the only reason they were voting to permit gun stores after a decades-old ban was because a federal judge, following a 2010 Supreme Court ruling that invalidated the citys handgun ban, ruled earlier this year that the ban on stores selling guns was unconstitutional.
The ordinance, which passed by a 48-0 vote, requires that all gun sales be videotaped and prohibits gun shops in 99.5 percent of the city.

What an AH !!! He announced that he will set up zoning laws to limit the locations for gun shops. This article saysd that these shops will not be able to open up in 99% of the city
You can bet that the remaining places where the gun shops will be allowed to be opened will be in the worse part(s)-- read as most crime ridden-- of the city.
Good idea Raum. Then those walking out of thse gun shops after registering their new firearms will be robbed or worse and the legally registered firearm will become a stolen item that is the responsibility of the legal gun owner.
