So again.....the customer service was very unhelpful! The email invoice from Newegg is not enough! They want the original invoice.

I ended up telling them that the amount of time they spent making me prove that I paid for the software cost them more than if they just sent me a new copy!

I get that it was my fault for losing the original but how about a little customer service! okay...I stop complaining now!

Thanks Spiney.....my original Elements 10 was from NewEgg, their prices are great. I am running 64 bit. I do not do enough editing to warrant the cloud plan.. yet!

I appreciate the info..thanks again!

Best buy and New Egg run exceptional prices as do other office stores around Black Friday. Last year I got PSE12 and the Video Editor for $69 from Staples. Since I had no video editing software it was the best deal for me. But they usually sell Elements for about $49 on Black Friday. I bought Windows 8 2 years ago on BF for $39, it's now about $120.

I'm probably going to go with the $10 a month cloud plan for PSCS6 and LR5.5. I already have LR 5.5 but my latest PS is CS circa 2002.

I like PSE12 but don't like being limited to 8 bit editing and there are some amazing tools in CS6 that you don't get in Elements.

Like others said make sure your running 64 bit Windows. For some reason I installed 32 bit and now I have to go through the complete format and reinstall because 32 bit only sees 3GB OF MY 8 GB memory.

MtnMan, I am not that great with 10 so if I am going to put in the time as I hope to do, I may as well do it on the newest version! thanks for the insight!

12 provided a huge upgrade in the user interface. Unless you are super proficient with 10 buying the new version is well worth it for that alone. I suspect the difference between 13 and 12 is modest but you might get some good stuff that works for you.

They increased the price a bit on 13 so it might be $60 instead of $50 when Costco and others put it on sale.

Alternatively now might be the time to take up Adobe on the $10 per month for both Lightroom and Photoshop.

Thanks so much! This would be great for all the "stuff" on my old computer!

There is another option to find the "key" or registration number for your v10... download a free program called Belarc (belarc.com) and run their computer inventory app. It will survey your whole computer system and give you license key numbers, part numbers, all the software you've got installed, all of the model numbers of hardware components, etc... very handy when trying to recover a program or a kaput disc drive... or when trying to reinstall a piece of software...

Thanks Boone and Mmatu!

I just chatted with Adobe...very unhelpful because they said I had no proof that I purchased the software. So frustrating...If I pirated the software would I really ask them for help!I realize I should have kept the packaging!
I just found the invoice on my email. I will install 10 and hope to get 13 on sale closer to Christmas.

quote=Ol' Frank]My version 10 has a corrupt disc and didn't work properly. It cost almost as much as version 12 to get it repaired. I bought version 12 and it is great. Version 13 is a little better but not that much different. Go ahead with the 13, you wont be sorry.[/quote]

Thanks....I will not pretend to understand all of what you said but I think you are right with getting the new version!

I appreciate the response!

I believe PSE 10 was 32 bit, where PSE 12 and up are available asa 64 bit apps, so they would process memory intensive functions much faster.

64 Bit also means that it will see more memory to work with.

I often ran out of memory with PSE 10 when doing panorama merges, but with PSE 12 (64 bit) I have access to all of my computers memory instead of only 4 GB.

Of course that only works if you are running a 64 bit OS as well.

For me seeing PSE 12 went to 64 bit was all I needed to know to upgrade.

I am sure there are additional feature upgrades, but I switched from PSE to Photoshop CC 2014 & Lightroom for my editing.
