We are doing a March boat trip to Baja Mexico to experience the gray whale migration. While we won't be actually IN the water, we'll be in Zodiaks much of the time with a lot of big splash potential! I have a Nikon D500 and purchased an AquaTech Elite housing for it. Wow...wasn't prepared for how big/heavy it is! But my concern now is making sure it is secure and won't accidentally fall into the water. :) I can be klutsy at times... What do you recommend to secure it? Also open to any photography tips...what lens would be best to use, especially, since there is no "zooming" inside the housing. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
I have made 15 Blurb books and have one being worked on now. Obviously I think they are good.
I have settled into a cost/quality I recommend which is a paperback using their first upgrade of slick paper. I do not use the Lightroom extension but rather find I like their BookSmart software to give me more control for what I do. I have also found that the .jpg's I send them need to have slightly brighter darks than look good on my monitor. Subtle dark shadow areas on a bright computer screen, can become sort of muddy and dark blobs on a printed page.
My sizes have settled in at 10" x 8" as they fit my layouts better. You might look at some of my books to see what I mean: they are all available for viewing (full screen) by going to the Blurb Bookstore and searching for 'rleonetti'.

Wonderful tips! Thanks so much for sharing your experience and wisdom!
I have made several books with Blurb (using Photoshop Elements, not LightRoom), and I have been very pleased with the books. So have the people I gave them to. Among others, a wedding book and a birthday book, photos and text.
If you have LR classic they just added some more features such as lay flat. There are videos that do compare some of them and it comes out quite well. With the lay flat and some other enhancements I plan to do a book or two in the near future. There are also specific LR/Blurb videos to take the guesswork out. it is sweet doing it from LR. Create a collection first and the rest is deciding the order in the book.

Thanks! I am not too worried about figuring out how to do it, more wondering about the quality of the Blurb books from those who have purchased one. But will definitely look up that video!
If you are interested in a very-slighty-used lens, I have a Tamron SP 150-600mm, f/5-6.3 that I am wanting to sell. Not a thing wrong with it (that I know of) and only used a handful of times...it's just too heavy for me. I'm pretty sure I've got all the original stuff that goes with it. Bought October 2014 for $1069 from B&H Photo...just looked and B&H has it for $879 today. I am willing to sell it for $500 if you're interested.
I've never used the Lightroom Book module...anyone have experience with this? I've always used Adoramapix for my photo books and LOVE the quality...just wondering about the quality of Blurb books, is it comparable? Sure would save a few steps if I could do directly from Lightroom.... Thanks in advance for any experience with Blurb you can share with me.
A few weeks back, someone on this forum recommended a nice place for bird photography near Hamilton, Ohio. I thought I wrote it down but now I can't find it. Anyone???
I have been asked by some close family friends to do a group photograph of their entire family at their parents' 70th anniversary celebration...all 80+ family members from newborn to 90 years old!!! YIKES!!! I am happy to do it, but my biggest concern is how to pose them??? They know I'm not a professional and will be happy with whatever we get, but I really want to get a great photo for them. I'm mostly worried about posing so everyone is visible. Weather will determine whether we do them inside or outside. Suggestions please......
I bought one for my d7100 and was only able to use it a couple of times...very temperamental, time-consuming, unreliable, and frustrating for me. My recommendation would be not to buy it...but I don't have much patience with techy things that don't work when I want them to.
We spent 3 weeks in Peru last September...Amazon adventures plus Machu Picchu and also Mancora. Several flights in country, and never hassled once. I took 2 cameras (both have 2 cards in them), a few lenses, and multiple extra memory cards. They never once questioned or opened my camera bag. I had no idea that was a stipulation even! You will have a wonderful time and will probably breeze right through security too. :) Have a fabulous trip!!!
