Getting this new error message

i had the same problem I change the preferences in LR 5 not to open when a card was inserted. Then with LR 6 CC working i Deleted LR5 after backing up the catalog
Have now no problems
I actually deleted LR5 a day after LR CC was installed - just not to cause conflicts. So I cannot do as suggested as LR5 does not exist on my computer. Any thoughts?

Lightroom is trying to use the older version (LR5) to open the SD card with the newer (LR CC) Catalog. You need to change the preferences to use the newer LR CC to open the newer LR CC Catalog. Or, update the older Catalog.
I did as you advised my getting a new warning message here
G'day mates,
Ever since I migrated across from LR5 to LR CC, I keep getting this error message when I insert an SD card into the computer SD card slot.
In the past my LR5 preferences were set up, in a way that LR5 would start up automatically when I inserted an SD card and begin to import the images. Always worked fine. When I first got this message, I followed the prompts to locate the LR catalog, but I still continue to get this error message every time an SD card is inserted.
Please let me know if any of you have had this problem and how was it resolved

they make a 18-300 any advice on that lens....
Yes , I use the 18-300 on my D7100 covers a big range for a walkabout lens.
Alternative use the 28-300 on my D750 also as good for walkabout.
Never miss a photo op.

Once I set my Mac Book Pro to open Lightroom 5 when I plugged in my camera or card reader. Now I need to change it to open Lightroom 6 and I'm about to go crazy trying to figure out where to find that setting on my Mac. It now wants to open the new apple "Photos" app.
Any Mac users out there that can help?
I have the same issue too.
Hoping some one here can assist.
I also read somewhere within preferences that option needs to be checked off.
Keen to know the answer here.
Is Bracketing and HDR Photography the same?
If not, then excuse my ignorance, but what is the purpose of bracketing a set of photos.
Also is the above relevant to the term 'stacking'?
Great solutions from all.
Seems like I have to get back to the manual.
And review the information from the websites you have noted here.
Also thanks Jerry, eye sight not a problem at the moment.
Thank you all

Which also begs the question. Are we talking about the lenses being used on the same camera over that time.
Lenses are calibrated to camera bodies, not by themselves as a rule. Different camera bodies could be your dilemma, and calibration deals with lens/body distinctions.
Used on the same body - in this case the 18-105 used on my D7000
After years of shooting, I noticed a couple of lens are not producing as sharp pics as they were years ago. My Nikon 18-105 kit lens bought around 5 years ago gave me excellent photos over the years, but seems a tad out of focus, no matter what I do.
How do I calibrate or reset my lens ?
BTW - thanks for the valuable advice over the years.
Cheers mate.
Thank you all for your valuable insight.
From all your views, I see very positive feedback for the 28-300mm lens
Hence looking forward to my acquisition of the same.
When converting from LR5 to LRCC - do all the primary settings come across from LR5 - items in the basic framework setup - eg when one inserts an SD card, import presets etc
Currently use a Nikon 24-120 f4 constantly on my Nikon D750. This combo works very well. Now looking for greater reach when shooting. Would like to hear from anyone who uses the Nikon 28-300mm lens on the D750. If you use a better lens with the same or similar focal range length as the 28-300, I welcome you opinion.
Views good or bad would like to hear from you.
All the help past and present highly appreciated by me.

I would recommend the Nikon 28-300 VR, I use one and am very pleased; it is an extremely versatile lens. The 16-300 DX lens kind of defeats the reason for the D750 and would not take advantage of the sensor's capability. I recently posted a link to a variety of shots taken by Vincent Versace here it is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vincentversace/sets/72157649648051829/
I like your suggestion of the 28-300 lens. However an unsure whether I would get the same result as using my DX lens 18-300 on the D750 or is there something I am missing here? Am aware there will some serious vignetting using the 18-300 on the FF camera D750
