Thank you for posting those shots...now that I see the difference...a little deeper color and more of it...that helps with ID. I don't think we have the purple finch here in the Midwest...but I'll certainly keep a watch out for it.
You do, indeed, have the purple finch there. They are non breeding residents in your area.
