Nice shot. However, I have yet to see one, but this looks more like a Purple Finch to me. The reddish color highlighting the breast as it moves down from the thick color makes me think that.
But I ain't sure...not like any House Finch I have seen here.

Gee Bret, I have yet to see one this winter. I do see quite a few goldfinches. Good grab!
