The second photo is from the vault...it was taken with my first Sony point & shoot...it was a whopping 3.2 megapixels ;-)

Both are beautiful but #2 is picture perfect in my eyes :)

Don't know if available in Australia, but two free ones that are highly recommended by many: Picasa by Google. And Gimp. I have Picasa, along with a Corel product. The following thread has links to those + some other discussion:

The first vineyard shot is really lovely. Do you do any post processing? I tried a few edits to bring out the color and sharpness more. I also like the composition of the red trees. That's quite a kink in the neck of that bird :) What species?

Hi, I don't have the proper software yet to play around with the shots :) I actually don't know which one to get. Any suggestions? The bird, I am not sure what kind it is. :)

This hawk comes around my house periodically. He let me get to 10 feet from him/her. I always hope to get the sparkle in the eye of any wildlife I photograph.

Sorry........I very well may be stepping on some toes here.........In my opinion the two most favorite photos to post here on UHH are:
1. Birds
2. Flowers
Most are very nice photos, but if you're like me, then you might be getting kind of tired of the same old, same old. How about if we try to capture a "new slant" on the same old subject? Let's explore some variations and think outside of the box. Push the limits and edges. Let those creative juices flow. Look at your photos as an ART rather than just a SNAPSHOT.

I'm posting some photos to start this off. If you have some flower photos that you would like to post here on this "NOT your typical flower photos" post, then please do. I think everyone is ready for a creative new approach to the same old, same old. If you do wish to share your flower photo(s) just remember........1 rule: have a new slant on it. Think outside of the box. Let's stimulate the creative juices for everyone..............inspire us! Let that light bulb above your mind go ON!
Sorry........I very well may be stepping on some t... (show quote)

I love your idea! I unfortunately dont have any to contribute but love yours! How beautiful they have come up! Good on you for coming up with something different :)

The Kanangra Boyd National Park, so drove through from Oberon as the road from Jenolan Caves at night is pretty windy. Camped in the Boyd river area and walked south east toward a place called cottage rock. Still some very untouched areas so great fun.

sounds great! I'm always looking for good spots :) I will remember it for when we come up your way next.. :)
