Where and what kind of film did you get? Where do you have your film processed? I don't care much for the small and light weight camera but I do love to shoot film. The problem is of buying films and more of a problem getting them processed.

My film (120 & 135) comes from B&H and developing at www.thedarkroom.com

Thanks Newfie ! ........Here is an option on ebay - not a bad price - these are scarce now also ! - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Graflex-XLSW-Super-Wide-Medium-Format-Camera-w-Super-Angulon-47mm-F8-Lens-6x9-/301781783864?hash=item4643989538:g:dzUAAOSwl9BWMTha

Just yesterday I promised myself "no more GAS", now you have to go post this link. I think the GG back and roll film holders that I have on my Mini Speed Graphic would work with this.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a fixed wide angle lens on any 6 x 9 camera. A 6 x 9 roll film back on a 4 x 5 camera may be your best bet.

Check out the Fuji GSW690. It is a 6X9 with a 65mm lens.

Does setting the camera white balance have any effect when capturing in RAW or is the camera white balance setting exclusively what the camera processor uses when creating the jpeg?

I like the image of the horse. The eye is somewhat overshadowed by the white dots along the upper lid. I couldn't tell about focus until I copied the image into Photoshop and enlarged it. From that exercise, the eye is not in focus--sorry.
Swede

I didn't think it was in focus either. I thought I focus locked on the eye and then composed the framing. Maybe not though, the garage in the background looks pretty well focused. Maybe I messed up or perhaps auto focus isn't working because of the NIR filter. Oh well, I'm having fun anyway.

Ocala horse country on a frosty day. Well, pictures don't lie. Do they? Channel swapped, straightened, leveled, noise removal and high pass sharpen. Do you think the eye is in focus?

We had a light snow dusting here in Ocala FL over the weekend ;-) OK. You guys have inspired me and I am trying my 720nm filter on the full spectrum G6. I did a channel reversal and fiddled with the levels and here is the result. My editing is all on my laptop, so I don't get too much of an image to look at. I'm still using jpeg, soon I will brave getting into raw. All suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks Swede.... I pumped a few of them in my day too. Nothing tasted better then water straight from the pump....;0)

Mike

Straight from the pump and into a tin cup. I can taste it now!

Thanks for the lesson Mike. I found the "levels" in Corel so I will need to play with that. I think I need to really search out a tutorial to learn what all these sliders actually do. Thank for the compliments. I was driving through Escalante (do you know where Hole in the Rock Road is), Capital Reef etc this spring and I just pulled out the IR camera to see what would come out.

JM... The only thing that stands out to me is you need more contrast in the pictures. They appear a little flat. Not sure what you are doing your post processing in, but if you are familiar with using levels, I'd try increasing them. I can show you what I mean on one of your picture if you like. I need your permission to post it though. Great subjects though. Let me know.

Mike

Hi Mike. I appreciate the comments thus far from yourself as well as Swede and UtahBob. Levels? For post processing I use a product from Corel called "Paint Shop Pro". The Corel product was bundled with my "Vista" computer 10 years ago and all I ever do is crop and adjust brightness and contrast. It has more functionality, but I haven't taken the time to learn more. Probably I should try to find some tutorials. Yes, please work with either the old truck or the school house and tell me what you did and why you did it. You can post the results anywhere you want. When I shot these, I just wanted to see how these environments would show up in IR. I liked the results, I'm certainly ready to learn more about tweaking the images. More reading and experimenting for me I guess. Gives me something to occupy my idle hands. I've got Joe Farace's book and now I just need to play and learn. I really appreciate all the help.

I'd appreciate some critique on these. I've got a Canon G6 full spectrum conversion and I'm using an 850nm Neewer filter. I did a bit of post, only adjusting brightness and contrast. I'm just learning using jpg, not brave enough to try RAW yet.
