I also posted on facebook and when looking late last night at the posts I didn't even see yours, it just came up today on my page. I for one will never forget 9/11, nor what I was doing when it happened.

I have the lens that you are talking about a telephoto lens and a wide lens and yes it does fit with tube but when you take pictures it always leaves a feathering effect on the picture. Here is one I took the the wide lens to show you. Good luck I pray you have better luck than I did.

Thank you, I am still leaning toward a new camera, I am a self taught photographer and don't know all the lingo. I love taking pictures and am called on frequently to help people out in this area, so I want to experiment more and learn new techniques. The picture that you were talking about did not appear here so if you could send it again that would be great.

I have been considering buying a new camera, but if anyone knows of any third party lenses for the Lumix FZ8 I may consider keeping the one I have and go from there. Any suggestions?

I am so glad you said that about testing and buying a camera from the local photographers store - we have a wonderful local photo place where they are always willing to help and i was so disappointed when a woman came in and asked to see and try several cameras and then had the nerve to say she was going to go shop the internet - i said well they help you here with your camera you should support your this business because they help you with your equipment once you buy it.
It is disappointing to see people forget that to save a few dollars. i agree with your thoughts on that wholeheartedly.
I am so glad you said that about testing and buyin... (show quote)

I am so about buying locally, I am however looking forward to renting them for a week to take pictures and decide which one suits me best. Then I will look in stores locally to buy.

Hi,
Do you find yourself using the 50mm prime lens mostly?

At this point in time yes, I have wanted to get other lenses, but have not been able to find any other lenses, for my camera. That is part of the reason for the switch.

Thank you all for the wonderful advice. I have gained much from all the posts, at this point I believe I may rent the different types of cameras that I have narrowed the choice to, in order to see which one would work best for me. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have really enjoyed my camera, I have posted some pictures that I have taken with the camera. I am mostly looking for a newer camera that if I have problems with it there will be parts and help available, plus I am really starting to get back into taking pictures and would like more lenses and the kptions are limited with the FZ8.

Right now I have a Lumix DMC-FZ8, I am in the market for a new camera as this one is no longer available and I am interested in purchasing extra lenses. I was looking at the Cannon Rebel EOS T3, simply because cannon has a ton of lenses and accessories for their cameras. Are there any others that you may think I should look into?

My camera actually has a scene setting for sunsets and I use it for sunrises as well here is a sunrise I took on vacation in Myrtle Beach.

Hello, I have worked as a photographer in a portrait studio in the past and have thoroughly enjoyed taking portraits. I enjoy taking both portraits and nature photos. I have been considering selling some of my landscape portraits locally and believe that I will be venturing in that field in the near future. My biggest fear is that my family is just telling me that I am good, and in reality I am not!
