Very nice, brings back fond memories. I was stationed in Vicenza, just down the road a bit.

I have had clogging issues with various Epsons as well. From what I've read, every brand of printer has this issue. I just purchased an Epson R3000 a few months ago, with a nice rebate, and am very happy. I make every attempt to make at least one 8x10 print every weekend to keep a lid on the clogging problem. We'll see what happens. As others have said, the prints are fantastic!

My solution (not original with me) is to have a full page document, with every 10 or so typed lines set to a different color, set printer to print highest resolution picture and print the document. I do so every other week and have ended my clogs. I use an Epson Artisan 50, and may not use it on a regular basis and so this works well for me. Also I always leave the printer on thus bypassing the ink eating start up of the printer.

Yet, they loved him! In 1955 I was a college freshman in a small southern town. A café nearby was popular spot for students to get a late snack. Working in the café was a woman who spoke with a thick accent, and who we soon learned was a German "war-bride" - married a GI for a ticket to America. Her name was Eva. Being curious students, we tried to engage Eva in conversations when possible, and finally asked her about her feelings toward Hitler. Her chilling answer was "If I thought Hitler was still alive, I would return to Germany today." Needless to say, that answer has been burned in my memory!

My son's ex-mother-in-law was born and raised in Germany, she survived the war and married a GI. Settled here in Oklahoma. She said many times that Hitler was a great man, who really cared for his people, and did a lot for them. I guess there are none so blind as the willingly blind. Kind of like what we see going on today throughout the middle-east, and sorry to say, here at home.

I bought the tutorial a long time ago for $50.00 It worked great, but about 5 months ago all I get is a splash screen in French and it freezes. After many emails still no word on a fix. I must say though, when it worked it was a very good tutorial. Still waiting to hear from Mr. Thomas Parquier who apologized for such a long delay in getting in touch with me for a fix, but that too was a long time ago.

I spent some years in Vincenza when I was wearing the uniform. I can't wait to see some of your images, I know they will fire off a few memory neurons. Welcome to the Hog, I have only been here a short time my self but so much expertise, and friendly help when you need it.

I too spent 3 years at Camp Ederle in Vicenza 68-71.

Well, first off I like them and I think you did very good. The poses are standard ones because they work. Rongnongno gave some great advice, not just to you but to me as well. All too often I do not consider my surroundings and just start snapping the main subject, then later ask myself "why did I do that?"

I have a Taurus 1911 .45 . Less expensive than a Colt and a very good shooter. Have had no problems whatsoever. In fact it is my daily cc piece.

WOW! I like it, the composition and the emotion of it. I'm a 77 yr old great grandfather raising his great grandson, brought him home from the hospital at 9 days old, he is now 18 months old. I've got to tell you all those emotions of raising children have flooded back, and I can sense them in this portrait. Maybe this old soldier has become an old softie.

Take a quick look at the US troops in combat footage in situations where they have not actively engaged anyone yet.
Their finger is always on the guard "not" on the trigger.
No one wants a accidental discharge killing one of your own when the crap hits the fan.

With practice it takes very little time to transition from the guard to the trigger.

That is how we were trained back in 1955, the only time you put your finger on the trigger was when you were ready to destroy someone or something.

What are you worried about.
Everything the gun control people demand.

I have to agree with you, I loved the M1, just after a couple hours of carrying one I was wishing for wheels on it.
