.... there was an mini-iceage during the middle ages... what caused that? there were only a few hundred thousand global inhabitants at that time... .maybe they should have built more fires?

A very logical reasoning would be that those people were using too much solar power at that time, and drew down so much energy from the sun, that they cooled off the planet! It was their way to bring back the mastodons!
They had a saying back then "It's cool to cool the planet, Mastodons for the table!" lol[/quote]

actually stuff like that is extremely interesting! When Krakatoa (volcano) blew it caused significant global cooling for years, and since we know that volcanoes spew more CO2 that we could ever hope to, doesn't that debunk the notion of CO2 levels track temperature?

For those who deny: Glacier Park is down from 40 glaciers to 2 remaining. We will have to rename it when the last melt. The Himalayan glaciers are also disappearing. I advise you not to buy real estate along shallow coasts which will fulfill literally the label 'under water'.

Wow!

Who is denying? Like I said before, the Ice Age ended about 15,000 years ago. The continental ice sheet that covered most of North America is almost gone compared to what it was.

The Scablands in Washington state were formed/eroded by sudden flash floods of this melt off, over and over. We are talking about walls of water that were 400-500 feet high blasting from Lake Missoula at speeds of 300 mph to the Pacific coast taking everything in it's path.

Now that my friend was climate change! And I can guarantee you that it did not have thing one to do with human generated carbon emissions.

First - we can't plan for the meteor but we can plan for global warming. Second - you do realize we are currently producing record amounts of natural gas - albeit via controversial fracking techniques....

The Ice age ended about 15,000 years ago. Things have been warming up since. Well, mostly.

Years ago there was all kinds of hullabaloo about global warming (now re-titled to climate change). Then, as it turns out, things sorta stopped warming up. Scientists discovered "global dimming" where there is so much pollution in the air that the suns rays do not heat up the Earth as expected. They showed pictures of India and China as examples.

Scientists will tell you that the Sahara was a vast lush green paradise...10,000-5,000 years ago. Climate changed. That is a fact. Scientists attribute this to the Earth's wobble. This is a cycle that takes roughly 100,000 years to complete.

You can go "green" as much as you want but none of that is going to affect the Earth's orbital dynamics one iota.

Take a look at the larger picture because scientists were the same ones that said we would be living on the Moon in colonies by the 1990's, or flying a car by the 60's. These might even be the same scientists that tell you that Aspartame and GMO foods are great for you! It's wonderful for us that they are never mistraken! Or it could be that they are trotted out to perform some misdirection to keep you from looking at what is really going on.

P.S. mistaken is misspelled on purpose

The point is not old history, it is recent history. Dozens of embassy bombings, dozens of deaths in the bombings under GWB and not a peep from the GOP.
One embassy bombing and 4 deaths (not to minimize them) here come endless hearings because it is Obama's Administration. While we're at it we might as well use those 4 deaths (against the wishes of their families) and raise some campaign money off of those deaths. Let's not forget to castrate the Democrats in the committee so they have no power. And let's call it Bi-partisan TeeHee.

You could not possibly be more wrong. It's about whichever administration is in office -->AND<-- can still make dipshit decisions affecting the lives of Americans. GW (and any previous president for that matter) is not in a position to do much of anything. Same goes for Slick Willie.

Now have you got kids? Are they serving in the Armed forces? Friends there? Did you see that report about the soldier who made it back but was prescribed 100 pills per day?

Benghazi is just the tip of the iceberg with the O administration. No one under him is held accountable. They all collect their pay plus bonuses for doing slipshod work. If they were in the private sector they wouldn't be fit to man a broom.

Yeah I've wanted to try that for a couple of years now. Are you referring to the Canyonlands ?

I was thinking more along the lines of Zion, Bryce, and Arches. Of course that whole section of the country is something to see, especially if you are from the East coast.

I also really like the overlook at Hite which is at the top of Lake Powell I think. I wished I could find it. I took a pic at the south rim overlook at GC back in the 70's. It was with an old kodak instamatic but I still managed to capture the size of things. You see, back then planes flew below the rim, well below. And in my shot a 12 seater looks like a tiny white speck.

Make sure you go to Page, AZ. That is home to Glen Canyon Dam, Lake Powell, the "Big Bend", and Antelope Canyon. My daughter and I went on a trip there 2 years ago complete with airplane over the Grand Canyon, a visit to Antelope Canyon, and a lazy boat ride down the Colorado River.

I'd say that Antelope was the best of the three. Especially so if you are a shutterbug. And that is one place that you actually want to visit in the middle of the day to get those beams of light.

As nice as GC is....Utah is better.

There are plenty of examples of Americans dying on a Presidents watch. Jimmy Carter had that failed rescue mission of the American hostages. Not everything always goes to plan but at least he had the balls to step up and tell Americans what happened.

Reagan/Bush and Iran/Contra? Yeah, there probably should have been someone held accountable. Alas, that time has come and gone and neither of them are in office now.

Make no mistake. It's all about who is in office now and when they screw the pooch they damn well better be held accountable and they had better have better answers than "oh, I just heard about that on the news", or "I don't know" or "I don't recall" or "that's yesterdays news".

I am amazed at what the media lets this DB of a president get away with. He's the least informed, most clueless SOB this country has ever had. And that just compounds the tragic state of affairs.

Please explain the law breaking.

The US DEA has declared a "War on Drugs". Obama and Holder armed the enemy via "Fast and Furious" with automatic weapons and then sealed the records via Presidential Executive Order.

I'll let you think about that for a minute.

For the liberals out there that want this policeman to resign....

If Obama, Holder, Selibus, et al. can keep their jobs despite breaking the law, circumventing the Constitution, and generally lacking the ability or aptitude to do their jobs, then why in the hell would this policeman resign? Talk about stupid!

And conservatives say progressives are racist because some called Clarence Thomas an uncle Tom. Well when your last name is Thomas and you rode through College, Law School and Job Opportunities on affirmative action and then you vote against it every time it comes before you, it kinda makes sense.

That did little (ok nothing) to explain why the policeman in NH should be fired.

Explain it to me like I am a 3 year old exactly why this policeman should be fired.

Doesn't the Constitution give him the same right to freedom of speech all of us enjoy?

Does this one instance show a pattern of behavior where he has treated "people of color" differently?

Has he denied blacks freedom and/or opportunity?

Or are you just along for the bandwagon ride because he used the N word?

I'm not as old as this guy in NH. I can still remember being a kid in the 60's reciting "Eenie Meenie Miney Mo" and I can tell you it wasn't often that it was a tiger involved. Does that mean I'm going to burn in hell? Or am I incapable of doing my job? You liberals better hope that's not true. I'm still paying taxes!

These are all interesting points....

At the root of all of this is a core belief by conservatives that they should get to keep what they earn and make a choice to help their fellow man.

Liberals believe on the other hand, by their say-so, we should all kick in AND have the government administrate to help our fellow man.

Therein lies the rub. Conservatives champion the liberty of choice. Thou Mayest. While Liberals believe Thou Shalt.

Everything that differentiates Conservatives from Liberals spawns from there.

Oh, and seeing as how I am a conservative, you are free to agree or disagree as much as you'd like. Just don't expect to change my mind.

And again, why does it matter if it was a terrorist attack or a riot? Doesn't this just boil down to the fact that the right wanted to politicize this during the election to make Obama look weak on security? Isn't it true that what pisses the right off isn't the lie but that in doing so you couldn't use terrorism as a ploy to try to make Obama look weak!

And to add--if one terrorist attact on a US embassy made Obama weak on security how did 13 attacks on US embassies during Bush's term make him look?
And again, why does it matter if it was a terroris... (show quote)

Well here's the thing. The Brits shared intel with the US that the situation there was becoming unstable a week before the attack. They packed up and left.

Does it matter if it was a riot or a planned terrorist attack? What was it that Shakespeare said? "A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet" It doesn't matter what you call it. In the end it was an attack on our embassy. That matters.

What really matters was our (the American Government's) response.

Did Obama send an armed response? No.
Did Obama mount a rescue operation? No.
Did Obama, Hillary, et al tell us the truth about the attack? No.
Did Obama enter the Situation room when he found out about the attack? No!

and here is the kicker. Did they cover-up their mistakes? It would certainly seem that way and THAT my friend makes all the difference in the world!
