p/u the book Photosecrets San Francisco & Northern California by Andrew Hudson.this book will give you a lot of information on everthing from S.F.and going north to both see and do.the book is about $10.00 used and $17.00 new.it is a good ref. and a good keepsake after the trip. dont know about where to stay but as for places to visit p/u the book PhotoSecrets San Francisco & Northern California by Andrew Hudson will give you all the information as to where to go what to see and places to shoot pictures. The book does list hotels ;shops;restaurants.its a great book and you can pick it up used for about $10.00.$17.00 new.have a great trip.

glad you enjoyed your time in San Diego.It was about 10degrees hoter that week then normal.temp.is in the mid 70s at this time of the year usealey.very nice pictures.

knew a few guys that were on the river boats the stories they told were scarey.they always made me think about the P.T boats from world war II. Carrier life was easy compared to what they had to deal with everyday.

brings back some good memories great video.I wasn't a pilot but was part of the deck crew who parked them on the flight deck.waching them land an take off was a lot of fun.had to keep your head on a swivel when working on the flight deck.Vietnam 1969 and70. saw some land that were pretty shot up don't know how they made it on deck.

the Nicon AW120 is W/P and has alot of dif.settings.Cannon also has a nice selection.all for about $300.00 and less.

I have the sony A65 with the panarama feature and it works well but you have to practice shooting in that mode. Also I find it is eaiser to shoot hand held.

I was there yesterday and shot with a sony A65 with a Tamron 18 to 270 my biggest problem was the intensity of the sun. next time I go I will buy tickets for the grandstand that way everything is in front of you and you only have to deal with the people in front of you.it was so crouded you couldnt get close to the front of the crowd and if you did everyone had unbrelas set up and you couldnt see over them.most of the people were shooting hand held.Hope you have fun and drink plenty of water it was 95 on the flightline with no shade anywhere.

the book by Tony Worobiec called The Complete Guide to Digital Night & Low Light Photography is a good book to check out. it covers everything you need to know.
