Thank you all so much, I have enjoyed the photo opportunities since my restart with a DSLR.
Photo 1: I watched game 7, the celebration, the proposal. Went to bed, it is well with my soul. 11 pm. An owl lands on the tree outside my bedroom window. I grab my camera. I have to leave the lights off so I don't scare owl away. I think its in manual, can't see. Take a picture, fumble for review arrow. Totally black. Adjust ISO, fumble, turn it to 6000 or something, picture, review... black#$@)! ISO 25600, picture, review, owl! Or something. Can't see to focus, hope lens is in Manual, rotate focus, fumble, picture...owl, or something. Terrible image, it might be my favorite ever! Photo 2: A couple weeks ago In Yellowstone, rental lens, Nikon 200-500, Sweet! Bugling elk everywhere, more people than elk. My favorite shot is of Mr. Wilson. (Tim Allen's neighbor on Tool Time if you remember him talking over the top a temple-high wooden fence). Photo 3: Next day at Yellowstone. I eluded the hordes of photographers, crept up on a satellite bull (No girls in this guy's world). He is laying down but bugling in response to every other bull's bugle. He stands up and in utter frustration he....well you can see for yourself. He answers the question, what can a guy do with his mittens on?
Download is fantastic, great results for your effort. I took my first star trails this week here in Montana so the first thing I noticed is how much closer the North Star is to your horizon. Did you use a tungsten WB setting? I was able to achieve the deep blues as your photo shows only with tungsten.
One of the best I've seen! Could you post again with the download link? Great job
No one else asked so I will. Where is the rest of the left winged bird?
I can barely make out the figure of a lady taking a photo of the eagle in the tall tree. Lower left quadrant. Always incredible work Regis😋
I purchased the Nikon 18-300, taken a few thousand pictures while the kit Nikon 18-55 has taken exactly 1 photo. The Nikon 200-500 & 1.4 TC is on my wish list. (D5500). I take landscape, wildlife, birds, sunsets/rises, even milky way. It is not a Regis Talbert pro setup but it is darn good.

Excellent action, sharp, with barb wire for western effect.
The first time I used a new cable to snatch a firewood log it twisted, kinked and curled. It now has the perfect form to cinch onto a crater of green cheese. I will donate it to the roosians for this project in exchange for enough green cheese for a small gathering. BYOB of wine. Everyone's invited.
Excellent, I downloaded and saved your image. We had no viewing opportunity this cycle, only snowy skies.
I bought the Nikon 18-300 for my D5500, they are engaged and the shunned 18-55 has taken residence in its case. Looking back and forward, a f2.8 telephoto that can hitch up to a 2x TC may be a better match.
That is one lucky duck. Twenty years ago a Bohemian Waxwing hit our window, breaking a wing. We brought it in and it lived about 6 months. Our happiest day was when a flock landed in the crab apple and began eating and singing their trill. Our guest, Fletch, joined in the singing. We were blessed by the experience as you will be.
