If you have a smart phone I can recommend an App :
" My Tracks " Its a GPS Hike/Walk tracker . you can save your walk, add waypoints etc
I use it to mark locations , I also like to take a pic of the sign or other location ID

Hello
I have a new SX50 and I would like to know if anyone could suggest settings that would allow me to take a Picture of the stars on a camping trip next weekend .
Not even sure that it would be possible but I would like to try.
And No a 6D setup is not a doable setting  (I knew what you were thinking )

I randomly picked one of hundreds of my photos of birds. It's taken in RAW. Can be post processed but I want my photos to be originally good. How to estimate the right exposure? I do it by trial and error method. What should I do different?

After visiting a local camera store, I was going to compare and ask questions than go to Best Buy, I personally have decided that even though I may be able to get the same "Package Deal" and same camera from Best Buy or Online. The few $s more I would spend at the Camera store come back to me 10 X in the Personalized Service, Knowledge, Instruction and Selection. Not only do I get a live human when I call, I know that that person (Sara) is only 20 miles away not on a phone bank in India .
