Based on what I see in the link Greg may be a great bird photographer but he is a bit of a 'one trick pony'. Getting great bird pictures requires certain skills but 'it ain't art'. At least sharp images don't make art.

do you have more than one trick??????????? apparently you have never shot a BIF ???? Ansel Adams was a one trick pony....tell me he wasn't an artist.

I take it that you don't appreciate b&w. Greg is good, and I didn't mention SwampGator because he doesn't post here anymore. As far as photographs that elicit emotion, however, I'll stick with Graham.

Swampy is damn good he's a pro...ole greg just rides around in his jeep uses a canon t2 or 3 and gets knock your socks off photos. Yes Graham's photos elicit emotion....but depression is an emotion that I avoid.

JC, you are right, Gregory does have some very nice shots.
And I'll agree, you and I are really good at BS. But you my man, are the champ. But I vow to give it my all, and get better!

LOL... you my friend have a lot to learn I have a phd in bs.......but I know a good photo when I see it (I've been at this hobby for five years and haven't taken one yet) Greg does some damn nice work. I had the pleasure of shooting with Greg.....I don't know how he does it but he's damn good.

Graham Smith, but you have to find his photos in the critique section.

Graham is good...if you like doom, gloom, cold, rainy, and B&W...Graham is a good photographer but looking at his photos makes me want a perception for Prozac....I much prefer Greg's bright sunny birds. JMHO.. btw the critique section is a total joke.

I've never seen one of Gergory's shots.
And many don't seem to post, not to mention that styles can be very different.
We could divide it up into the PSA genres and use their rules, and have an outside panel of pro judges.
Then we'd know!
And it may well be Gregory!
But I agree, the equipment hasn't got any thing to do with it.

you need to check out his photos.....unlike you and I he posts some very nice photos....we just post bs....you more than me.

This should start an argument but my vote would go to gregoryd45. the man does not have the latest and greatest equipment...he does very little pp....but he takes amazing photos. he has the best lens anyone could have......he has a keen photo eye.

I have it on my Pentax K3....It's a very nice lens. Bought it from B&H for $350.00 and received a 4% rebate.... free shipping and no sales tax. B&H is very good.

From B&H, you will receive a camera identical to the one you'd receive from Best Buy. But B&H does not collect sales tax. B&H provides excellent customer service. You can call in and talk with a knowledgeable customer service representative. In addition, B&H ships most products for free, although you can select a faster delivery at higher cost. Go B&H.

Good luck.

   Great people, great service and very fair prices. B&H is very customer friendly.
