Stabilization is less important as the focal length gets wider. Still, if the price is reasonable, go for it.

Thanks Jerry. I’m going for it

Image stabilization does come in handy. More elements are usually better.
It is also sealed.
(I'd probably go with the 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD.)

That’s what I’ll do. I might get a FF body in the future, so that would work.
Thanks

Yes it does matter. I would definitely go for the one with the image stabilization. The 10-24 is a wide angle lens. Still yet you would want IS. The more elements the better the lens. If you can afford to go the extra $50 I would go for it. Check to make sure that, that lens will work for the crop sensor. If it is not a crop sensor lens, then you may get some vinyetting. Tameron makes good lenses, I have had 2 of them for my Canon camera's.

Thanks CaptainPhoto
I think I will order the IS lens. If I have any vinyetting, I’ll send it back. But I’ll hope for the best.

Sure you have the opportunity. Go to www.NASA.gov to see this shot from two years ago and many more.

I’m interested in the Tameron 10-24 lens. While checking at B&H, I found two that will work on my Nikon D3400 crop sensor camera.

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/compare/Tamron_Di_II_VC_HLD_vs_Tamron_B001/BHitems/1317274-REG_583992-REG

I notices there is some differences such as the number of elements, and one has image stabilization the other not. And of course a $50 difference.
Aside from the price, does it matter in the end which one I use. Is one better than the other, if so why.
Thanks

Please explain this fixation on lenses, prime or not.

This is the third thread created on this with same slant.

Here is a suggestion. When the fourth thread is created with the same slant, don’t read it

I’m thinking the horses have more fun than the riders. Well maybe the little girl is an exception

Oh yes - we see it on this blog often - some members are very quick to turn nasty or to make snide comments to a newbie who has asked a newbie question.

Fortunately the good and helpful folks in this blog far outnumber the nasty.
